++ Update: Zeke looking at suspension - 6 Games

Recommended Posts

I see Goodell taking alot of flack. Keep in mind when the NFL took action against Chris Carter for drugs he said it was the best thing to happen to him.

that's nice.

Elliott doesn't do drugs

A drug problem isn't the same as a domestic abuse problem. Unless you're sayin Zeke is addicted to beating women?

Dan Patrick said this morning to expect announcement around 5 Eastern & it isn't s one time thing with Zeke. It's repeated issues with DV.

So it will get reduced to 4?

If that happens I'd sue the league like Brady did and tie this up in the courts for a long time.

6 games is a lot. Then you have the chance he gets in trouble again, that he isn't in peak shape when he comes back, that he fights it but then gives in and you lose him during the fantasy playoffs. Maybe he doesn't get suspended at all or it is reduced to 4 games.

He can't be drafted in round 1. It would wouldn't be surprising to go at the end of 2nd top of the 3rd.

I don't think he falls any further than the end of the 4th round. I know 6 games is a lot, but he's still the type of player who can give your team a huge boost if he comes back and performs up to standards. That kind of temptation is too much for a lot of people to pass up.

So, let me get this straight:

After the Ray Rice fiasco, the NFL had to do something. So, they came up with a standardized 6 games for first offense of domestic violence.

But Zeke wasn't charged. Niether was Ray Rice. So, it doesn't matter.

So, explain to me, why did this take over a year to sort out?

How does Goedell still have a job?

I can't envision him falling that far, even if the 6 games sticks. I would still draft him in the early second.

He is gonna be Brady part deux when he comes back......running angry.

Because the NFL is making huge profits, and the owners don't want to rock the boat.

Which is sad considering, given the rise of fantasy football, a retarded chimp could guide the NFL to huge profits.

I too will purchase early 2nd. 6 games of <fill in the blank> and then 10 with Elliot is probably better than anything else you'd get at that point in the draft, barring some kooky breakout.

Maybe it took that long to investigate and find enough evidence to hand out a suspension like this. Not sure.

Hopefully you make the playoffs in order to take advantage of having Zeke. He's going to miss 7 weeks including his bye week I believe, that's a lot of the fantasy season.

Early second means late first. You better hope that late first pays off. You'll have to nail just about every other pick if your first round is a bust, and you're missing your second for the first 7 games. It's the same reason people don't pick Gronk.

2nd is too early for me, that's when you take either your top RB or wr. I'll consider the 3rd but prefer 4th+.

It should be noted, Zeke can file an appeal.

Given how slow NFL "justice" can be, it's possible he could miss fantasy playoff games.

joke. Racist Goodell strikes again. Keep letting Jesus Brady and the Pats make a mockery of the league, and just worry about suspending guys over 'allegations'

Can you give me the names of guys I can get at the bottom of the first who are sure things please? Even better if you have sure things in the top of the 2 nd.

My point was that at the bottom of the first, there aren't sure things. That makes him even riskier since you will potentially have seven games without quality first round or second round production.

Could see pairing him with Freeman. I like the gamble

Sounds like one stressful fantasy football season if you take Elliott early.

Sure but some of the reasons we do this is to compete, look smarter than everyone else, and rub their stupid faces in it.

Who is the handcuff? And how early do you need to grab them? That's the question

Seems to be some debate about McFadden or Morris being the primary beneficiary.

So Goodell, had well over a year to figure this out, even though the league implemented a black and white policy for this sort of thing. yet, Zeke has 3 business days???

"Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott has been suspended for six games by the NFL for violating the personal conduct policy, the league announced Friday. Elliott is expected to appeal the suspension, league sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter. Elliott has three business days to file notice of appeal, and a hearing must be scheduled within 10 days of receipt of the notice."

I'm starting a petition. Fire the commish! Fire the commish! Fire the commish! Whose with me boys? Where are the pitchforks?

You better be one very good manager to survive 8 weeks without your 2nd round pick in a competitive league. I'm willing to try it in a public league but I'm not going to take the risk in my main league. Some do like a good challenge though.
