“Papa” out as Papa Johns CEO

Recommended Posts

Crust first people are probably budding serial killers.

One of the weirdest fuckers ever met my life would perform surgery on his slice of pizza. First, he would eat all of the olives, then all the onions, then all of the pepperoni, Etc. I swear to God, he probably went home and burned himself on the scrotum with a curling iron every time he missed a random Olive or whatever and had to eat it out of turn.

He made eating a slice of pizza look like a cross between an archaeological dig and a CSI autopsy.

Yeah, that strikes me as trying too hard. The other thing I read detailed different ways to fold: lengthwise, parallel to the crust, double fold, and lastly, toppings out. While the latter seems retarded at first, it kinda makes sense as you are keeping the most flavorful part in direct contact with your mouth, though I have no idea how you could eat it with your hands that way. But if you prefer folded, crust out, you might as well eat a calzone anyway.

I can eat NY pizza, its just not worth the effort and mess when non-NY pizza is just as good or better.

You are quite possibly the stupidest person ever. Efffort ? Mess? WTF it's a slice of pizza. What effort ? Mess ?

You are no longer my doctor if you can't eat a simple slice of pizza.

WOW

I prefer the kind of puzzy that you unfold to eat, though I haven't ever tried this "NY Puzzy" where you fold it to eat it. I'll have to give it a try.

Chicago puzzy has generally been good. A few bad tasting, but I can look past it depending on what's going on up top. A nice pair of melons with pepperoni on top can make up for a generally bad tasting puzzy.

Hawaiian style has generally been bad. Not a huge fan of pineapples with Canadian bacon up top.

I haven't seen it discussed yet, so I'm going to let you all in on a little secret. If you bring your own sausage and stuff the puzzy with your sausage, it's wonderful. Best way to enjoy puzzy IMO.

Sounds like Tan has it down. Maybe he'll give better advice how to slow your pickling process? Or perhaps Dgb's got your back?

You clearly have no idea what youre talking about.

This has been painfully obvious in this thread.

This is just another pile on example.

Everyone has to hate nickleback even though they sound like 10 other bands no one gives a about.

Everyone has to think IPAs are great or you don't know beer.

And everyone needs to jerkoff to new york style pizza.

Yep to all of this.

I didn't realize that folding a slice was so important to the pizza eating experience. So... I've got this super thin crust which is crispy yet foldable, an apparent oxymoron. You spread too much sauce and not enough cheese, of course using NY sewage water (which I haven't seen in this thread but has been advertised here as making it "authentic" NY pizza%$#@), and this is some kind of culinary experience?

I hate carbs in general but give me Chicago style all day, with ample cheese and a variety of toppings.

NYC water is fantastic. Best tap water I ever had.

Seriously, pizza places here advertise that they bring in NY water to create "authentic" NY pizza. You and shots probably think "yeah, of course, NY water FTW$#@!" while the rest of us are laughing at you. :dunno:

Not really. I think it's just silly marketing as well. But I'm telling you, NYC tap water is really good. And I don't live in the city. Haven't since I was a kid.

You like the taste of whatever minerals were in the water you drank as you grew up.

Maybe. But everyone seems to think it's really good. There's a great reservoir system from upstate and the tunnels that bring in the water are constantly being upgraded.

It’s def a thing, I’ve heard people say that’s why the bagels are so good.

Pepperoni does not belong under the cheese. And whats with the stupid peppers on the side. I ordered a pizza, not a burrito. Worst pizza ever.

While it is talked about, ruling is inconclusive. I have also had good bagels around the country.

Upstate doesn't get their water from the reservoirs. They belong to NYC. Protected and operated by NYC. It was a great heist the city pulled off many years ago. Can't even swim in them.

+1, except the anti-carbohydrate part.

I understand all the PA/NY locals fawning over their pizza, but who the fawk made you an expert?

I’m a pizza fanatic, here in Cali we have all types and celebrate different regions variations. I’ve also had NY pizza in NY and it’s fantastic. No expert, I just love pizza like it’s a food group. You? You are an expert on bean curd, soy and garden burgers. Probably haven’t eaten a slice of pizza since the 90s.

I've had pizza in NY as well. BFD. It's all opinion which type of pizza is best.

I have heard great things about Detroit style oddly enough. Need to try it.

Hmmm. Looks like square slices and thick crust with burnt edges...I'll reserve judgement until I try it. I like the idea of sauce on top of the cheese though.

Sounds like a grandma pizza. Very good, but there's a lot of sauce and garlic. Tears me up.

If I remember correctly you went to Totonnas in Coney Island not too long ago. I choose Totonnos over Grimaldis

There is a little hole in the wall pizza place in the ghetto of my town, to me, it's the perfect pizza.

Thin crispy crust and tons of topping options. Unrelated, their Italian salads are great as well.

Don't mind Chicago or NY style but, I'll take the pizza type above all day every day over other options.
