Backstory on this... in the mid 90s I was visiting my in-laws in South Carolina over New Years; they had a local NYE show on TV (Charleston I think) and this band I had never heard of called Hootie.and the Blowfish performed. I was mesmerized, I hadn't heard a voice quite like that before. The rest is history.

I respect punk. During the Disco years when a producer would throw a back beat behind something like the theme to the Brady Bunch and release it, punk put the music back into the hands of the musicians. God bless punk.
