Needs to be 3000 or bigger to run the air conditioner. As far as last years model, I would agree except this years is priced cheaper than last years.
the s is ilent 69 Posted March 11, 2018 You can run your a/c and one 100w light bulb with the gennys in the links. Bigger is better for your application. Go to 5000-7500w for power to spare. Need low noise also.

wiffleball 4,649 Posted March 12, 2018 I'll tell you what, Amazon has a long way to go with its whole voice ordering process. I ordered one and within the first week I ended up losing my Adam's apple and all my body hair. Turns out, they shipped me a deluxe Jenner-ator.

joneo 529 Posted March 12, 2018 Be careful running flat screen tv's & newer appliances off a portable generator....dirty power & can mess up your stuff. Yeah, I'm pretty sure this one advertised clean or smooth power so phone chargers and such were safe.
NorthernVike 2,080 Posted March 12, 2018 Yeah, I'm pretty sure this one advertised clean or smooth power so phone chargers and such were safe. Not for that price. Good luck.
Patriotsfatboy1 1,432 Posted March 12, 2018 Not for that price. Good luck. The 2nd one on the list (and my guess is the first one too) is an inverter generator and it provides much cleaner power and should be fine for electronics. That price is not cheap for a unit that only puts out 2800 watts. I think that my 5500 watt generator cost about that much.

Can you recommend a generator that has minimum 3000 watts and a decible level very close to Honda and Yamaha that is an inverter. And for similar cost as this? Kopy 493 Posted May 13, 2018 I'm looking to pick one up for the winters up my way. Any of you guys have recommendations on what size I would need. Or if I need something specific? I'd be looking to run 4 items at once. The pellet stove. The refrigerator. A extra full size freezer I have. And then a miscellaneous outlet just for a light, or the phone charger, something small like that. Being able to run the pellet stove is the biggie though. I'm all electric, so when I lose power, I literally have no heat.

I'm all electric, so when I lose power, I literally have no heat. I bought one at Sam's Club last year after we lost power. It's 8750 peak watts and runs at 7000. It would easily run all that you listed so you could prolly get by with something smaller. I assume the pellet stove is just an auger and a blower. The freezer wouldn't need to be plugged in constantly. I think mine freezer is rated for 3 days with no power before I'd lose food. Mine is not Honda brand but has a Honda motor and I have used it a couple times and am happy with it. I paid 999 and a few weeks later they had it on sale for 799. Mine is smaller than that (Briggs & Stratton, 8250/5500) and it does essentially my whole house, but it is wired into the panel. Does a fridge, freezer, 2 blowers, water heater, and everything else. Cost about $
