Kansas bill would allow teachers to carry guns in schools...

Recommended Posts

I want to be the first one to get in on the disgruntled third-party lover shoots other female teacher who was getting buffed by the same guy.

Other than cops, I think the single most unstable people in their profession have to be teachers. This is going to go really well.

I love that the left turns this into the librarian is going to save the day

its people who are trained with firearms, its not easy to get a CC, its likely guys who were former military or law enforcement who will now be able to CC, and training available for those who want to learn

I wish the coach from Parkland was able to bring his gun with him that day, you never know

Please. Its extemely Easy to get a CC. Hell, my 70 some odd year old mother has one.

One of my friends got one through the mail. All you have to do is find the easiest state that has reciprocity with yours. He got a New Hampshire one if I recall correctly.

Nurses are up there. Odd that the two professions full of women make the list.

Lawyers would be top 5 too. Lots of drunks and cokeheads.

Potential positive: May save students in attack.

Potential positive: May deter the psycho from attacking a school. On the other hand it may not. The nut may just think that you are slapping him in the face. He really doesn't care to live as has been stated earlier. Suicide by teacher.

Big negative: Some wannabe hero teacher will want to keep up with the Joneses and show how tough he/she is. Discharges weapon and blows own students head off accidentally. Clean up on isle 5. Yes, this will eventually happen.

Negative: Crazy student sees this as a new way to be famous by taking the gun from the teacher, killing the teacher first and then as many as possible. Over time these teachers will become lax in securing their firearm.

There has to be better options than allowing the teachers to pack heat.. It simply sounds like an absurd option.

Tighten security, hire more trained professionals, limit entry points, metal detectors at entrances. Schools in my area all have onsite dedicated sheriffs, it's been that way since I was in high school 25 years ago. All entrances are locked during school hours and visitors have to be buzzed and signed in to the main entrance.

My son is a freshman, I would not feel comfortable knowing teachers in classes he attends have access to guns, I'd rather leave that to the trained pro's.

Why doesn't someone go mow down people in the Pentagon or White House? Or the local trap club during a meet? Or the police station? (Here is where a lib will be tempted to find an instance where this happened at one point and time, and use it as gospel. They certainly would have had I not preempted it with this sentence.)

So there must not be any crazies out there that want to get the president either for notoriety or because they don't like him. Everyone must love the president and love The Pentagon and The White house and love the U.S government. No one has shot those places up and taken out gobs of people. Tons of people in one place. Fish in a barrel. But they go untouched. Gee.

People haven't shot up a lot of places. What's your point, that there are armed people there? That's great. I say have armed professionals armed in schools. Not teachers. What happens when one, or many, ofnthe teachers is banging a student and the kid tells everyone? She's gonna be pissed, and armed. No thanks. Also, what will be the screening process for these teachers to be armed? Are the ones popping anti- depressants going to be eligible?

So what are you proposing? Are we assigning a company of Marines or a Secret Service unit to every school in America? Yeah that's exactly like giving a teacher a Glock.

The process...is old stick. Its been discussed over and over. What's the process for anyone to do anything. Obviously its a process. No one is saying "hand them out at the door like candy" . I could explain a process....but why. You understand processes. You realize getting into the army has a process, becoming a teacher has a process, and a teacher becoming armed would have its own process. Off the top of my head, it is volunteer. It involves additional background check, psych test, a test, a proficiency test and ongoing training. There would be a pay increase for this. Many teachers would do it for nothing. But for an extra 1-2k per year....for the very few that would volunteer to go through the process....it wouldn't be a lot of money. And you forget. Some places...have proficient people already there. Our school has 2 National Guard members...who have been in the guard for over 15 years. The also coach sports. I know them. They would VOLUNTEER .... 100% free.... if they were able. That's 2 more than the 1 SRO we have now. Triple. I'd take it. Not everyone is scared of guns, Hardcore. Not everyone grew up in a place with mostly Vinny's, Rocko's, Vito's and Shmitty. Not all of us live in areas where we see only guns as bad and are scared to focking death at the sight of one.

And where are you folks getting these wild thoughts?

A teacher having an affair with a student? Jeezuz you are jumping to some wild tangents. A.) Ummm. I'm pretty sure that if the teacher wanted to off a student, they could get a gun other than the school issued one.

B.) We talk about arming teachers...and you jump to the conclusion a teacher has an affair, and shoots the student?

Gee. So...what if, and angry dad with a wooden leg comes into the school, and is mad at the school policy that tobacco isn't allowed, and he poops on the floor then when the poop loving teacher bends over to lick it up, he takes her gun, and goes and trades if for a bigger gun, and comes back in and wipes out the school and then when the cop shows up, he wipes out the entire police force,.....

I mean that could happen. I wonder if the school has thoroughly thought out what they would do if that happened. I think you should take it to congress.

Romantically, I'll take nurses every time. Willing to get dirty, and not concerned about worst case scenarios all the effing time.

Negative: Cops arrive in response to active shooter, accidentally shoot gun toting teacher.

Negative: To train teachers, money is diverted from more promising safety measures, or stuff with actual educational value.

Some of us realize good guys with guns are already causing more harm than good, so incentivizing more people to arm themselves is ludicrous.

You have some kind of link to support this fabricated nonsense ?

Yes, plenty, which you guys all conveniently ignore.

Take the time to read the two links in the following post, and then look back to the older post nested within to read another half dozen:

After you've checked those out, please explain how you've come to the conclusion that personal firearms make us safer. TIA.

Since I've had to look this sh!t up numerous times, with no intelligent from response from any gun advocate, I'm gonna add a hashtag for future reference #blissfulignorance
