BunnysBastatrds 1,921 Posted October 14, 2018 First time. Twenty years of marriage. What should I expect? Signed the papers. Amicable split. Losing many family and friends I obtained through her. They all stand by her. What was your first thought when it was officially over? I'm torn.
titans&bucs&bearsohmy! 2,745 Posted October 14, 2018 When I signed the papers, we rode away from the lawyers office together. Even stopped and had dinner on the way home. I moved out about a week later. That was pretty sad. Even though I was glad to be leaving, it is sad to walk away from what had been your life, even if it was bad. Now, when I got the email 90 days later that the divorce was final, I was in bed with a chick 15 years younger and three points hotter than me ex wife. That made me feel like I won. We communicated for about a year after the divorce. She would delete me on Facebook whenever I posted pics of some new Asian girl I was banging, then add me again later. Shed say stuff like it is hard for her, etc. When she started seeing pics of me and the now wife, she asked if its serious, and asked if I ever regretted getting divorced. At that point, I cut off communication. Didnt seem fair to my new girl, and I really had no desire to communicate with her anyway. Its been three years now, and I dont regret it for an instant. Lifes too short to be miserable.

penultimatestraw 473 Posted October 14, 2018 Youll be down for a while, but you need to look at it as an opportunity for change. Become a better person - quitting drinking is going to be a big part. Also sounds like youve also got to figure out your work and finances. Its gonna be rough, but avoid feeling sorry for yourself. Youll never drink away your troubles. I used the time after my divorce to explore the island. Did a sh!t ton of hiking, went on a pig hunt and eventually started rock climbing. My ex wouldnt have been into any of that, and I met a whole new circle of friends in the process. They call it outdoor therapy, and its nearly free. You seem like a great guy Bunny, so Im sure youll bounce back in no time. Just dont isolate yourself. Youve still got plenty of friends here

This is the truth. I advise you to sit down and seriously ask yourself. What do I want to do with what time I have left? Whatever that is, do it. Youve had lots of obligation on you. Wife. Kid. Parents. Business. For better or worse, those things are now to some degree gone. Look at it not as a loss, but as an opportunity to do what you have always dreamed of. For me it was travel. For you, maybe something else. I dunno. Figure it out, and grab it. Some people will think you are going insane or having a midlife crisis or whatever. Fock em. You do you. Voltaire 4,564 Posted October 15, 2018 Divorce is underrated. The day I got divorced ties with the day I got out of the Army for the happiest day of my life. It was the day the sun came up and everything was wonderful. It was a great natural high, I was walking on clouds for two weeks.
