I didn't vote for Gary Johnson per se....he had zero chance. I voted for the Libertarian Party because I believe this country needs a 3rd party and this past election had 2 of the most undesirable candidates in my lifetime.  It was a missed opportunity for the LP and the voters in this country.... who basically held their noses when they cast their ballots this year.  Not to mention I like/agree with most of the LP's platform.

What is the LP's platform?

I don’t agree with the LP platform either but I think we desperately need a viable third (at least) party option. Trump is really no different than Romney, Jeb, Hillary etc. once you get past the Twitter stuff and the fact that he’s more open about being a crude narcissistic ass hole.

Libertarian party sold out the moment they tabbed Bill Weld as the VP. Most true Libertarians tapped out at that point. Now if you go to the Libertarian subreddit you have people going around saying they are a socialist libertarian like that’s a focking thing. The party solely exists now for people who think they are enlightened and refuse to vote for one of the two major parties. But they don’t actually have a platform other than that anymore.

This.

Trump would seem to represent an easier target to take down too, he is like a bumbling fool when his mouth opens.  Part of the liberal response could perhaps be fear....they should reasonably be able to take this guy down, and they cant, and I think that really scares them. i think this factor makes them a little crazy when it comes to him.

Because he is one of them. He is just as bad if not worse. More of the same if you will.

I have been alive for half a century. In that time the trump name has been and continues to be synonymous with greed, corruptuption, hypocrisy, misogyny, disdain for people, sociopathic disorder, a lack of ethics and just an overall POS. Everything he campaigned on and blames others for he himself has done a million times over and continues to do.

Better question is, if you have paid attention the last 40 years, why would you vote for him?

Disclaimer: I didn't vote for Hillary either.

I think Trump’s complete lack of class / shame, his hypocrisy and utter disdain for half his constituents should be alarming to everyone.

Vote Trump2020 because it's fun the watch the lefty's lose their sh1t like no group has before them. Obviously it's no impact to the economy or one's personal bottom line so the only logical vote is for Trump.

If you didn't pay any attention to what is in the news and went about your business oblivious to Trump & the media and I asked you if you think the POTUS should be re-elected the answer is definitively YES.

I think he is just socially inept, I think he genuinely wants to do the right thing and is used to telling people what to do and it being done, making him a poor politician in terms of how he presents him self.

I think the attempts to paint him are misplaced, haven't worked, and are not relevant to policy. I can dislike him as a person but support policies.

If you’re a fan of supply side economics and deficit spending I can see why you’d like Trump. To my eyes he’s basically Romney, if Mitt screwed around on the mother of his kids and acted like an ass hole on social media. :dunno:

Trump in first 3 years DESPITE the withering attacks from Obama FBI/DOJ/CIA (as well as other countries' intel agencies) and the MSM has the economy smoking, record low unemployment, unprecedented growth. Any sane person would realize he's doing a great job but morons want to call him inept, unreasonable and a buffoon. Would you rather have a charlatan that was killing our country again?

FFS....some of you are just focking retarded.

They don't think a bad economy will affect them. If they get their way they might find out.

Never let facts get in the way...

  • New government data show that Trump, too, has failed to reach the 3 percent promised land, according to one major metric.
  • The Commerce Department's Bureau of Economic Analysis measured 2018 growth at 2.9 percent, matching the peak Obama enjoyed in 2015.
  • For the rest of the president's term, economic forecasters agree, that number will decline.

You've been repeating these same lies for what? At least 3 years now?

Y'know what? They are still lies no matter how often you repeat them.  Can't change that.

Disclaimer: I didn't vote for Hillary either.

I didn't tust him at all.

I'd been playing the 'which turd smells less bad' game all summer. He said he'd end NAFTA and I'd been waiting for a candidate willing to do that for 20 years. He looked ready to pull the rug out from under the Bush/Romney neo-con faction of the GOP and was also less inclined to invade another Sh*tholistan.

He's done those three things. The economy is going great, his foreign policy is pretty good, and I applaud his and Mitch McConnell's work packing the judiciary. Call me impressed.

So, I'm on the Trump train for 2020. None of the top seven 2020 Democrats interest me at all, the ones I would consider voting for are in the 0-2% area. Further, I'm holding out hope that Ruth Bader Ginsburg will not be on the Supreme Court in six years, if we're lucky Breyer won't be either, and more spots open up for Trump/McConnell to fill in the various district courts especially the gawdawful 9th.

If we switch it up and contrast whether I would want him or Hillary, for a mild digression, I still take him.....grudgingly...

I don't know. I'm thinking Mitt was a big, big fan of Nafta and lopsided trade deals with China and Europe. That claim doesn't really hold up under scrutiny.

That’s fair too.

When it comes to Trump on labor he talks a big game but his record hasn’t been any better than anyone else. Real wages are down, union membership is down, our trade deficit with China is higher now than when he took office. Under Trump the SCOTUS ruled that workers have the right to not pay due to unions that represent them and allowed employers to make workers sign arbitration agreements that prevent class action suits. The White House has consistently been against collective bargaining and worker protections. The administration is loaded with corporate lobbyists and Wall Street swamp creatures. I bet more affordable healthcare would help working families - where’s Trump been on that?

You’d have to be a Grade A dummy to think a fat pampered fraidster like Donald gives a fock all about workers outside of using them for a photo op. If Trump loves US workers so much why did he spend a career stiffing small businesses and hiring foreigners? :dunno:

Simple Google searches, that's all it takes.  You keep repeating this lie, we know you are a focking idiot but, why do you make the confirmation so easy?

Please educate yourself, it's embarrassing.

https://www.cnbc.com/2019/02/13/worker-wage-gains-are-keeping-up-with-inflation-and-then-some.html

Quote

Worker paychecks are showing their biggest gains since the recovery began a decade ago, and are more than keeping up with inflation.

Labor Department numbers released Wednesday show that real average hourly earnings, which compare the nominal rise in wages with the cost of living, rose 1.7 percent in January on a year-over-year basis.

A month ago, the increase was 1.3 percent. A year ago, the gain was just 0.7 percent. In all, the rise in inflation-adjusted hourly pay showed the best increase since July 2016.

Aside from employment data, the Bureau of Labor Statistics also compiles the Consumer Price Index (CPI), our primary inflation gauge.

In the same period in which average hourly earnings rose 2.8%, the CPI rose 2.7%. That’s how much the cost of living went up, on average.

Your personal inflation depends on how you spent your money. But unless you had no housing or transportation expenses in the last year, your cost of living probably rose at least 2.7%, and possibly much more.

So, a 2.8% wage gain is essentially no gain at all.Inflation-adjusted wages are flat since last year. It is certainly not the fastest wage growth since 2009, or even close.

"Real wages" — wages adjusted for inflation — experienced negative growth of 0.8% during the past year:

https://www.hrdive.com/news/manufacturing-transportation-hit-hard-as-real-wages-falter/553320/

That's from April 26. Real wages have either declined or been stagnant since Trump came into office.

I hate to break this to you but Trump's pro labor rhetoric was just a campaign scheme and the Easter Bunny isn't real. :(
