AOC warns Petey Pillows

As the Democratic caucuses and primaries heat up, the candidates are starting to go after each other with greater ferocity. Sensing a potential victory in Iowa, Mayor Pete Buttigieg launched an ad that goes after proposals from Sens. Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders to make tuition free at public colleges and universities.

"I believe we should move to make college affordable for everybody," Buttigieg says in the ad. "There are some voices saying, 'Well that doesn't count unless you go even further, unless it's free even for the kids of millionaires. But I only want to make promises that we can keep."
The mayor's critics have pounced on this line of attack. After all, some of the nation's most successful federal programs — such as Social Security, Medicare and K-12 public education — have been available to all Americans regardless of their income. Surely, he doesn't think that these programs are also misconceived?
New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez weighed in with a warning on Twitter: "This is a GOP talking point used to dismantle public systems & it's sad to see a Dem candidate adopt it. Just like rich kids can attend public school, they should be able to attend tuition free public college.

I would like to see a Buttjudge/Yang ticket for 2020

I love that elitists are all for free public college. They don't use it anyway, so what do they care? Not gonna pay for it either. Easy- Peezy. So altruistic they are.

It just doesn't make sense. More kids than not whose parents pay for college, usually fock up their 1st semester and just don't give a sh1t about their parents money. Imagine what it would be like if it were free and they had no one to answer to?? Holy hell. what a waste.

Good point. But keep in mind these kids aren't going to fail for the most part. Thirteenth grade.

Based on what I know thus far, I’d vote for him....but Petey Pillows...that name gave me a nice chuckle. Bravo comedy.

I’m not necessarily for free public college but I do think public universities should be heavily subsidized even moreso than they are now.

The idea that “free” college is a bad idea cause millionaires might send their kids there too is really dumb though. No millionaire is sending their kid to Kutztown State University even if it’s free.

So having a different agenda and saying it out loud is "going after each other with great ferocity" and "line of attack"?

Little dramatic. And the only thing  that Cortez is capable of pouncing on with any ability is her vibrator.

Poor AOC. Couldn't find a job with her fancy private school education. What hope does a public school grad have? Maybe they can audition for a role in congress too.

I love this.  Theyre doing all of Trumps dirty work for him.  Come debate time, whichever candidate is left will be a beat up sack of shitt

That is typically what happens and why the incumbent often wins reelection.

The parties always complain when they lose the election that they took too much damage getting there in their own debates.

Not surprising to see you jumping in here.  AOC and Pete have different idea...RLLD "the left eats their own".  90s calls the all the righty geeks Conservacucks...RLLD "nothing to see here".

Mayor Pete, Andrew Yang, and Tulsi Gabbard I respect, I may not agree with them on alot of the major issues but unlike the others they don't seem to fall prey to complete political pandering and identity politics like the rest.  They are the only three that I would even pause and consider voting for......Warren, Booker, Biden, and Sanders not a chance in hell.

That's a good point. Respect.

No one had any respect for Hitlary or she wins.

Probably no coincidence the three you like are the three who have no prayer of winning the Dem nomination.

Anyone who thinks free college is a good idea needs to realize who's in favor of this plan... college's and universities.  It's why people need to start voting Republican.  Colleges are no different than private corporations/businesses.  All of them support liberal agendas.  Why?  Because it makes them more money.  Colleges and big business both know one key thing about money... limited competition means more profits.  That's why they support higher taxes on business.  It's why they support free this and free that.  It's because they know they have the money to withstand the cost burdens that the smaller businesses and in this instance, online colleges, can't.  Colleges and universities will get their money.  They're banking on these online colleges - who's target customers are those who don't want the high tuition costs - fail and go away.  What that means is more guaranteed (government), money for them.

That's because you need to be far left to win the nomination.  Most people don't want far left... or far right.  It's why the normal democrats need to remove the socialist element from their ranks.  The problem is that they need them to have the numbers.  They got in bed with Satan and now they're paying the price.

You're prolly right.  It will end up being a life long politician who promises free everything, plays to identity politics and whom the DNC puts all their weight behind.

Lot of Republicans like Dem candidates who have no shot at winning. If Tulsi or Mayor Pete had a chance you can bet those folks would suddenly find issue with them too. Same is true in reverse. I like lots of RINOs.

I have no idea who they’re going to nominate. DNC has no safe establishment candidate except Biden and he’s 147 years old and weird. I’d punt on this cycle if I were them.

They are, that is what the impeachment is about. Getting Trump out is the only win on the table.

That's because a lot of Republican's are moderates.  There are a lot of Republicans who voted for Trump ONLY because they hate the direction of the left is going.  If they weren't going that far and stayed reasonable, then Trump would definitely lose... heck, he wouldn't have won in the first place.  Currently, people probably still will vote for Trump because until the normal Democrats do separate themselves from the nut jobs, Republican's won't trust the normies to stay the course.  In order to win the Dem nomination, you need to be far left.  That's not the fault of the Republican's.  It's as I said initially, it's the fault of the Dems for getting in bed with Satan.

They know they’re not getting Trump out of office via impeachment. They should leave him in. Once the economy tanks all the people who hated his guts but tolerated him for his policies will turn on Trump hard. He’s going to have the worst second term you’ve ever seen.

The economy won't tank unless the Dems force it.  They've been trying for over a year to force it, but it still won't, because Trump is doing a great job.

The overwhelming majority of voters reflexively vote for their party in every cycle regardless of how fringe or mainstream the other candidate is.

I voted for Democrats until Obama made the fringe statement about making energy prices skyrocket. I knew he was bad news at that point. Then all of his shady schit and the more recent Democrat bullschit, and it'll be hard to go back to them.

Majority, yes... overwhelming, no.  There's more than enough who will flip sides if the right candidate comes along.  There's enough to flip states.

I suspect that’s crap and that there are very, very few actual swing voters & most elections are decided by turnout. I also would bet most unaffiliated / independent voters are pretty reliable Dem or Rep voters.

🤔

How out of touch is CNN that they think these 3 programs are examples of success?

The rare "I agree with MDC" post. Dems should punt just like Republicans did in 2012, they have no candidate who can beat Trump, as long as the economy is still moving forward.

Punting doesn't raise money or help local elections though, so here we are with Impeachment 4.0 to rile up the base.

Swing voters in WI, MI, OH, and PA who voted for Obama in 2008/2012 and Trump in 2016 decided the election.
