Infections spiked in early April and had a steady decline until May June when everyone started wearing masks. In states that made a mask mandate, you see infections shoot up. The problem is two-fold

1. People don't wear masks properly and they are ineffective in the general public. The best way to avoid getting sick is by washing your hands and NOT touching your face. When people wear masks they constantly touch their face. Thereby bringing the virus they picked up from that door handle to their most vulnerable area on their body (Eyes, nose and mouth).

2. Masks give people a false sense of security. They think so long as they have a mask they are safe. I know liberals don't believe the science but the science showed people who always wore a mask got sick more often.

But they really don't matter over the long run because you can't avoid the virus forever.  Masks only delay, and yes spikes occur in the most masked places because they have the highest rates of non-antibodied people.  You really need people to get it over time to avoid spikes.

I don't think they delay. They keep infection rates higher than they naturally would be. Here in Michigan after the mask mandate infections spiked and stay steady.

I think we both agree to let it run its course and have society develop herd immunity.
