Christmas morning explosion in Nashville

Well hell. Christmas morning started with a 6:30am explosion in Downtown Nashville about a block off 2nd and Broadway. Details are still sketchy. Oddly enough, the most early details were available from the UKs Sun. One local resident reported 3 different rounds of gunshots, followed by Police evacuating his building- prior to an RV exploding on 2nd Ave. One downtown building has reportedly collapsed.

This is a historic area of downtown near the riverfront- many old buildings have been converted to condos and apartments.

Note- an hour and 45 minutes later and flames are still burning. ATF is arriving on the scene.

6:20 am Blast felt as far away as 40 miles. RVs don’t normally explode- much less with a blast strong enough to be felt that far. Reports of ammunition going off inside at least one of the burning vehicles. 
They are now pulling back. Fear of structural damage to other buildings and they want to check other vehicles- the ones that have not been destroyed. 
 

For those familiar with Nashville, 2nd Ave, between Broadway and Commerce. (I drive this route every day on my way to work) It’s one block off the river, just across from the Titans Stadium.

Yeah- I actually live just east of Nashville. I work downtown Nashville, on 4th Ave, directly west from the explosion site. I drive that block 5 days a week.

FBI and ATF on site. Reported as “deliberate act.” Authorities were on way to investigate a suspicious vehicle prior to the RV explosion. Termed as “significant explosion.”
Responders have been ordered to pull back 2 blocks. 
Very large debris field. 
Seems to be some concern it may have been a dirty bomb, but that is just speculation.

Wow, my brother just moved there.  East of the airport, I just mapped it and he is by a big reservoir, not downtown.  He works for a large construction firm so... this sounds good for business$#!@. (Too soon?).

They will have to take down multiple buildings on 1st and 2nd Ave downtown. You can see the structural damage to the old buildings from a block away.

Unrelated but reminds me of a dude that used to come into the store.  It was right around when Breaking Bad was the rage and he builds an RV with a meth lab inside.  I think it was parked in a hotel parking lot when he was busted.  I recently heard that he was out of prison now but he has/had been locked up for years.  What a maroon.
