posty 2,613 Posted April 2, 2021 Major League Baseball are being pussies as usual... https://www.mlb.com/news/2021-all-star-game-draft-relocated Commissioner of Baseball Robert D. Manfred, Jr. issued the following statement today regarding the 2021 All-Star Game: "Over the last week, we have engaged in thoughtful conversations with Clubs, former and current players, the Players Association, and The Players Alliance, among others, to listen to their views. I have decided that the best way to demonstrate our values as a sport is by relocating this year’s All-Star Game and MLB Draft. "Major League Baseball fundamentally supports voting rights for all Americans and opposes restrictions to the ballot box. In 2020, MLB became the first professional sports league to join the non-partisan Civic Alliance to help build a future in which everyone participates in shaping the United States. We proudly used our platform to encourage baseball fans and communities throughout our country to perform their civic duty and actively participate in the voting process. Fair access to voting continues to have our game’s unwavering support. "We will continue with our plans to celebrate the memory of Hank Aaron during this season’s All-Star festivities. In addition, MLB’s planned investments to support local communities in Atlanta as part of our All-Star Legacy Projects will move forward. We are finalizing a new host city and details about these events will be announced shortly.”

Brilliant... Oh, and since you will ignore that, let’s talk about Sundays. Is there something about black people that systemically requires them to vote on Sundays? Do they have a significantly higher employment rate vs. whites which makes the lack of Sunday votes disproportionately unfair to blacks? Or, maybe, just brainstorming here, bear with me... maybe in the Deep South where it is very religious, it is difficult and unnecessary to staff and ask for volunteers to work on Sundays? Those making the claims of fraud bear the burden of proof. This law claims to fight fraud, of which there is less than 1 per million votes. It is a “solution” in search of a problem. Therefore, the provisions in the new law are what need to be defended. Let’s start with the provision you mention above. What does restricting voting on a Sunday do to improve election integrity? Do you have any evidence that they had a hard time finding volunteers to work the precincts on Sunday? Sounds like you’re just spitballing that one.

5-Points 3,395 Posted April 4, 2021 17 hours ago, dogcows said: Do you have any evidence that they had a hard time finding volunteers to work the precincts on Sunday? Let's start by thoroughly vetting the volunteers. Let's ensure they're truly non-partisan. Then, let's follow that up with assuring that volunteers from both sides are allowed to actually witness the goings on. From close up, not 20 feet away. And when witnesses are made to leave, ballot counting ceases entirely until all witnesses are allowed back in to witness the ballot counting. And do away with ballot harvesting and drop boxes. When all of that is implemented, we can start discussing the importance of providing ID to prove you are who you claim to be. Until then, enjoy your illegitimate elections.
