Green Bay had been without receivers Davante Adams and Allen Lazard due to COVID for last Thursday's game vs. Arizona. Adams, who had been on the reserve/COVID-19 list, was not at practice on Monday when the Packers returned from their weekend off. Lazard was deemed a close contact of Adams, and because Lazard is unvaccinated, he was automatically ruled out for five days. NFL Network first reported on Rodgers' positive test. The ESPN quote above says he petitioned for an exemption but was denied. If they were just going to "let" him not follow the rules then why not just approve his exemption for whatever gypsy medicine he apparently got?
