The LGBT issue in Russia is actually pretty complex. Here is where @JustinCharge is correct on one key issue - You cannot apply Western standards and Western values on Russia. Or many other nations to be honest. It's a very dangerous way to approach real salient threats to the United States and it's actual foreign policy.

It's unfortunate Nikki Haley is so often dismissed in the national daily media cycle, mostly because she has no scandal for Team Blue to exploit and they want to concentrate on all Orange Man Bad narratives. Haley consistently points out the inherent dangers in American arrogance in believing their viewpoints should be the only one that matters in a much more complex geopolitical dynamic. 

You laugh because you were very likely, like nearly all here, born into freedom and born into abundance. That road is one where many take the freedoms and safety we have as Americans for granted. The rest of the world is full of places that are simply not that fortunate. 

You are also dismissing the impact of religion on other countries. Just because America is losing it's religious core through the overall social fabric, that doesn't mean the rest of the world is following suit at the same pace and tone.

Vladimir Putin is keeping the door open for a potential new alliance with Yevgeny Prigozhin to ensure he has a good way into Belarus should he want to expand his control over the former Soviet republic, an intelligence analyst has suggested.

Prigozhin last week was forced into an agreement with Belarusian president Aleksandr Lukashenko after threatening to march on Moscow to oust Putin's closest military advisors.

As part of his agreement, the founder of the mercenary Wagner Group agreed to move to Belarus and ordered his men to return to the frontline in Ukraine.

Former US Army intelligence analyst Kervin Aucoin told Daily Express US Prigozhin could still play a crucial role in Putin's plans, and effectively could be "positioning" himself to take over from Lukashenko.

Aucoin said: "A lot of talk is about how Prigozhin was 'banished' to Belarus and I think that is improper terminology.

"My assessment is that Prigozhin, with the help of Putin, could be positioning himself to overthrow the government in Belarus if Lukashenko finds himself on the outs.

"Now, tactical nuclear weapons officially arrived in Belarus this month, but Lukashenko would need to sign off on its usage if Putin decides to use them.

"A no response from Lukashenko would be where Prigozhin steps in."

Aucoin had previously suggested Putin could be preparing for the deployment of tactical nuclear weapons to reinforce his authority following the Russian elections scheduled for next year.

He argued the latest developments did not alter his initial assessment as he reiterated the use of nuclear would be a major "miscalculation" on Putin's part.

The 15-year Army veteran added: "So, does this change my assessments on tactical nuclear weapon usage?

"Not necessarily, it just changes my assessment of the multiple avenues that Putin can now go through in order to call for a strike on Ukraine from Belarus.

"I still don't see the timeline moving up because it would be a gross miscalculation to use them before an election.

"Now, it was also a miscalculation, in my opinion, to carry out a full-on invasion of Ukraine, so anything is possible. I just don't see it as probable."

In a Kremlin ceremony, the president walked down the red-carpeted stairs of the 15th-century white-stone Palace of Facets to address soldiers and law enforcement officers, thanking them for their actions to avert the rebellion.

Rumor time.

 

The MSM is circulating rumors that Russia will attack Ukraine's nulear power plant to cause a radiological incident.  On the other side, there is a rumor that Ukraine is planning on conducting an attack using radiological material shortly before the NATO summit on July 11th, and then the MSM will blame Russia and that will be used to have Polish and German troops to enter Ukraine and fight.  The US wont contribute troops as that could drastic boost the antiwar movement in the US, which would severely hurt NATO war funding.  So you have a situation where the US keeps funding and Polish and German kids go die on the front.

the second one is worrying because NATO appears extremely eager to get WW3 going.  An increasing number of experts believe this because NATO seems to really want Putin out of power and hes the moderate.  If NATO wanted peace, NATO would be really pushing negotiation with Putin first and foremost but we are pouring money in there to expand the war.

this is a really really scary week coming up.  Ukraine desperately needs a most glowing report for the NATO summit on July 11th.  There are signs Ukraine is getting super aggressive to achieve that.  if they could actually break thru and make real progress in Crimea, Russia will nuke the US in response.  Or they will nuke Ukraine, NATO sends in troops to Ukraine, and Russia nukes everyone.   EIther or its WW3.

Many analysts seem to be thinking nuclear war is coming between now and July 11th in some form (dirty bomb, bombing of a nuclear power plant, "tactical" nuke).  The response is already being prepared by Poland who are massing troops on the Belarus / Ukraine border.

In all seriousness, Zelenskyy has to know we are the thing keeping his fight alive. The will for this won’t last forever. If a Republican wins the WH this is most certainly over. So at some point in next year or so that has to be in the calculation from him.

Fockstick Putin knows as well and like he gives a shet about getting tens of  thousands killed.

Today's forecast calls for partly cloudy skies with a high of 95 and a low of 72 with a 20 percent chance of afternoon showers, according to The National Weather Service, and Russia WILL nuke if that happens.

there is a lot of speculation that whatever huge event is coming, that it will begin on July 5th.  The reason for that is it will be extremely bloody and this show is meant to draw in American funding, and they don't want to do it on Independence Day.  So were looking at the 5th, maybe even starting the night of July 4th after the cookouts are done.  Theres some pretty big massing of troops waiting to kick off something.  But perhaps it will be a nuclear / radiological false flag which will get blamed on Russia to get NATO to send in troops.

July 4 (Reuters) - Russia and Ukraine on Tuesday accused each other of plotting to stage an attack on the Russian-held Zaporizhzhia nuclear power station, long the subject of mutual recriminations and suspicions.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said he told his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron, about Russian "dangerous provocations" at the plant in southeastern Ukraine.

Russian troops seized the station, Europe's largest nuclear facility with six reactors, in the days following the Kremlin's invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.

Each side has since regularly accused the other of shelling around the plant and risking a major nuclear mishap.

Renat Karchaa, an adviser to the head of Rosenergoatom, which operates Russia's nuclear network, said Ukraine planned to drop ammunition laced with nuclear waste transported from another of the country's five nuclear stations on the plant.

"Under cover of darkness overnight on 5th July, the Ukrainian military will try to attack the Zaporizhzhia station using long-range precision equipment and kamikaze attack drones," Russian news agencies quoted Karchaa as telling Russian television. He offered no evidence in support of his allegation.

Zelenskiy tweeted that he had told Macron in a telephone conversation that "the occupation troops are preparing dangerous provocations at the Zaporizhzhia (nuclear plant)."

He said he and Macron had "agreed keep the situation under maximum control together with the IAEA", the U.N.'s International Atomic Energy Agency.

A statement issued by the Ukrainian armed forces quoted "operational data" as saying that "explosive devices" had been placed on the roof of the station's third and fourth reactors on Tuesday. An attack was possible "in the near future".

"If detonated, they would not damage the reactors but would create an image of shelling from the Ukrainian side," the statement on Telegram said. It said the Ukrainian army stood "ready to act under any circumstances".

Zelenskiy and the Ukrainian military also provided no evidence for their assertions.

None of the reactors at the plant is producing electricity.

In his nightly video message, Zelenskiy said Russia was planning to "simulate an attack on the plant. Or they could have some other kind of scenario.

"But in any case, the world sees - and cannot fail to see - that the only source of danger to the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant is Russia. And no one else."
