I actually auditioned for WOF 20 years ago, I was eliminated for refusal to buy a vowel

The desire of pretty much every contestant buying a vowel just amazes me...  Now WoF says there are no more vowels even if they haven't picked them all...

A long long time ago my cousin was a 3 day WOF champion, back when you could return(early 80's).  She got like 9K, IIRC---I think she was allowed to just accept cash instead of the things she bought on the showcases, but I'd have to ask, I was pretty young when it happened.

yah the showcases if I remember were just for show and to pay for advertising, those companies would donate to the show, and people would see something and go buy it

So rewatching this, I’ll be honest. The real idiot is the white guy

instead of spinning and landing on miss a turn he should have just solved. Even spinning at the end when he solved was stupid. He had money from other rounds. Just win the puzzle and keep anyone else from catching you.
