Well based on this thread seems there is a demand… I think part of the issue is lifeguarding is only a summer job, so if high school kids want real money they are probably working jobs that can be done in other seasons as well. So the main demographic for lifeguards is probably college kids. Not sure why that market in particular has dried up.

There is a public pool near me that has closed some days because they couldn't find a lifeguard. This shlt is surreal. Those who love beaches and pools should be cautious this summer before hitting the waves and the water. The U.S. is experiencing a nationwide lifeguard shortage and the American Lifeguard Association, based in Virginia, warns it is only going to get worse. Fox News Digital on Thursday talked to the American Lifeguard Association's director of health and safety Bernard J. Fisher II, who indicated that the shortage poses an urgent threat. He said that he’s "never seen it this bad." "I can almost call it a ground zero," he warned. Fisher stressed that the lack of lifeguards in America right now is just "as bad" as the nation’s baby formula shortage. On top of that, Americans still "haven’t seen the worst," he said. The shortage, impacting about a third of the country’s 309,000 public pools, has caused some facilities to limit hours of operation or close altogether. There are also lifeguard shortages at beach, water parks and other facilities, he suggested. "These kids — they've had so much hardship on them with the pandemic," he said. "And now when the temperatures go to triple digits in a lot of our cities during the summer, we're not even going to have a community pool open for them." Added Fisher, "I'm actually ashamed of how some municipalities threw in the towel so early." https://www.foxnews.com/lifestyle/americas-lifeguard-shortage-crisis FOX NEWS DIGITAL..............................this proves that the /coward that posted this ONLY watches Fox-100% discredit, go suck off tucker.
wiffleball 4,797 Posted June 11, 2022 Okay, I don't know how you blame this on biden. But I'm not surprised but some people are trying to. Either claim that the federal government shouldn't have power over the most minor s*** in our country or don't. State and local governments can easily pass shield litigation legislation that protects swimming pools and their owners and operators from lawsuits. Post a sign that says swim at your own risk, and we wouldnt need f****** lifeguards at all. Think this is f****** a radical concept? Maybe travel outside of the country for five f****** minutes. wiffleball 4,797 Posted June 11, 2022 And can we stop talking about the hardship these kids endured under the pandemic? Oh Jesus christ, you got perpetual snow days. You got to stay home and f*** around on your computer. You didn't have to face bullies or what the f*** ever. You didn't have to even shower if you didn't want to. Jesus, I would have given up my third nut to go through a so-called pandemic in Junior high.
