Alias Detective 1,400 Posted June 16, 2022 WASHINGTON (AP) — Vice President Kamala Harris and administration officials on Thursday launched a task force dedicated to fighting online harassment and abuse, which they warned can be a precursor to real-life violence. “The internet is an essential part of life in the 21st century,” Harris said, but for many — particularly women, people of color, and people who are not heterosexual — “the internet is a place of fear.” The task force will address several issues, including prevention of online abuse and services for people who are targeted. I'm also willing to bet that there's a good portion of "victims" who aren't even victims. Meaning that someone isn't actually fat, but because they're soy boys, they'll be offended on behalf of someone who is fat, claim that they are fat, and report the person doing the bullying. The best part is that they'll find out that the person doing the bullying is probably a non-straight/non-white/non-thin person, and nothing will happen. They're going to find this out, and then they'll slowly walk away from this and pretend it never happened. The other possible outcome is that they do start prosecuting these people and find out that there's a disproportionate number of minorities getting prosecuted and that it's just another sign of systemic racism. If I didn't have to be online all day for my job, I'm not sure I would use the internet for anything other than buying something here or there, fantasy football, and that's about it.
