Christian McCaffrey

He had 10 touches for 62 yards yesterday. That's not bad as is.

He won't get the amount of load that he had in Carolina. Definitely more receptions than 2. That's where he may pay off, but SF doesn't want to kill the guy. Hell Wilson had 7 rushes for 54 yards. The rushing won't be the issue. McCaffrey will open up more options for SF in that offense. That will be his biggest asset to them.

But still, they got their ass kicked against KC. That can't make them feel very good about their McCaffrey debut.

They traded for him on Thursday, he had to be told where to stand on each play. He'll learn the playbook, it's fine. You can't make any judgments on what you saw yesterday, that's just silly.

I look forward to watching him and the Niners. He's a great player when healthy.

But they gave up 44 points yesterday. That is no bueno.

Fantasy bust in Carolina, fantasy bust in SF.   And the beat goes on

He won’t really be a bust unless he get hurt (which of course is very possible)

He'll probably get the chinese flu for 70th time after getting his 90th "vaccine".

While I agree with you, he still might be right.  The Niners do have backs that can do the job, they're just always hurt.  I can see McCaffrey getting only 10 carries a game with Wilson and then Mitchell, getting about 15 to 20 (total).  We know San Fran doesn't want to throw the ball if they can avoid it.  I think where McCaffrey will be used is in the passing game.  He'll be Deebo's relief.  I think McCaffrey will get about 7 or 8 receptions per game, but his rush attempts may not increase too much.  Could be an effort to keep everyone healthy for the playoffs.

Nice Win for Carolina yesterday.

They got cocky that they made a killing on the McCaffrey trade and won a game. Oops.

Go back to the political drivel threads where you hold your only value as HTs on the spectrum sidekick.

The kind of move that puts a good team over the top, just a brilliant pickup.

No big deal:

Christian McCaffrey is the first player in the 49ers' illustrious history to record a rushing, receiving and passing touchdown in the same game.

It took him 2 weeks

…as long as he doesn’t get hurt.

He’s no CMC, but D’onte Foreman had 3 TD’s too.

Good deal for both teams

It was a good deal for both teams. I don’t think anyone in this thread thought it was a bad deal for Carolina and it has nothing to do with Foreman’s performance today. Foreman, Hubbard, whoever carries the ball for them… doesn’t matter. It was against Atlanta, after all.

it’s all about seeing what young players they want to keep and build around.

I think DJ Moore should be a part of that even though he has been the subject of trade rumors. Maybe one of the backs will prove good enough. Draft a QB, more offensive line help… NFL teams can rebuild quickly if done properly.

One of the best in season moves in recent history. Man, what a juggernaut this team has been since he put on a SF jersey.

Curb-stomping Miami with a 3rd string QB, my goodness... This team is scary.

Niners are among a group of 6-7 teams that have a legit shot to win it all. Kudos to them for going for it.

I'd be surprised if an inquiry wasn't made.

Why not? I bet he could get up to speed in 2 weeks. They have all the weapons he could want.

Agreed, don't see a negative. He can't throw a deep ball, this team doesn't need it. Get it out quick, that's all you have to do.

I think you’re just trying to jinx it so he gets injured… And they’re not winning the Super Bowl with Brock Purdy at QB

That’s exactly what they did too. I have him on my fantasy team so when he got traded I was a little iffy on it cause he WAS the panthers offense. But he’s been killin it in SF as long as they keep utilizing him correctly
