I like that it doesn't have much of a plot other than a dude going off to war. There are very few really good World War I movies. "War Horse" and "1917" were good but only give us a glimpse of how crappy it was to be in that war. The closest of I've seen is "The Lost Patrol," a great movie, but the fighting mostly takes place in the woods instead of trenches and muddy, cratered fields full of bodies, wire and other crap.
