Deion Sanders head coach at Colorado

Did the Sanders clan think NDSU was some no talent push over?

He was pissed this game got scheduled years ago.  I would be too.  NDSU would beat 3/4 of the FBS on a good day.

They would never beat the big dogs, but if you are a middling program, they'll cone to play.

They lost to Colorado. The team that was last on their conf last season.  I realize how good NS St has been over the years in D2.  And they can compete.  But they lost to a bad D1 team last night.  Not sure they beat 3/4s.

Is Deion's kid that good or is it just stat padding against a weaker team?

I actually think NDST was the better team.  Colorado has more top talent but NDST is better coached.  If I were P5 school I would never schedule them.

Never liked the Prime Time persona, but I thought it was just that, a persona for marketing opportunities.  It just might be he's a jerk

Colorado bans reporter from asking Deion Sanders questions

They will allow him to be interviewed by Dana Bash, but only if he can bring along his defensive coordinator.

North Dakotans also know the difference between a bison and a buffalo.

Oh!  Didn't know he had 2.  Thought he only had the one who's a QB.

Really?  I haven't followed him, but I've heard he'd a be 1st or 2nd round pick.  Brennan was a Day 3 draft pick, so something doesn't sound right.

I actually just googled it, and a website has Shedeur going #1 to the Giants next year.

The Giants will also be in the market for a QB within 2 years again. I don't see him translating to the NFL.

@Hawkeye21 @WhiteWonder

We all might have been wrong.  It might have solely been to get his two kids a ton of playing time to get them drafted (or signed).  I don't recall ever hearing about Sanders having health problems until like, now.

could be. Or could be that at some point after starting this venture he decided it wasn't for him but kept doing it for his kids. Hopefully it's nothing too serious but I am also curious to find out how serious it is to decide if its just a convenient excuse to be done with this coach prime experiment.

Yeah, possibly.  I'm just a skeptic.  I certainly don't want his situation to be bad or anything, I just have a hunch that it's an excuse to step down... conveniently after his kids are out of school.  If I were a gambling man, I'd bet that he steps down and "retires" from coaching because of "health reasons".

I'm not sure which thread it was in, apparently not this one, but I do remember hearing that one of the reasons he left JSU to go to Colorado was because with the money he was giving back to the school, the school was pizzing it away instead of investing it in the athletics program like it was intended.  At the time, I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.  I don't know if I can do that again or think that way anymore if he's now done coaching.  One thing that seems fishy, I can look the other way... but 2, in just a few years?  I don't think so.  We'll see what happens, but like I said, if I had to put money on it, I'm betting he steps down.

I agree with you. My gut tells me that is what it is.  I am just wondering (and we will never know for sure) if he started this for himself, got tired of it at some point, but kept going because of the kids.... versus the entire venture being for his kids.

Could be he can’t see a path to success there and wants a way out to preserve a chance at FSU or a Jerry Jones mistake

Here in CO we've been hearing about his health problems pretty much since he got here.

Regarding the press conference today, local talk radio talked about it this morning.  One of the guys noted that Netflix is making a 3 part documentary on Coach Prime and speculated that this may just be to generate content for that documentary.  Who knows?  We'll find out later today.  I'm hopeful it's not that major, both for his health and because CO football hasn't been relevant in a long time and the last couple years has been fun.

Sanders probably looked into the future at UC and realized it was never going to be what he thought it would be.

Since he is always interesting to listen to, I am sure he will get plenty of offers to sit at a round table and discuss NFL football for much less time and stress.

Ok. Thanks.  I didn't know about that.  Hopefully this isn't anything too serious.

After remaining hush about the nature of his health problem at Big 12 football media days earlier this month, "Coach Prime" is expected to address his latest ailment during a press conference on Monday. Sanders will be joined by his medical team, including representatives from the University of Colorado's Anschutz Medical Campus, to reveal what has plagued him this summer.

About all that's publicly known regarding Sanders' health issue is that he lost 14 pounds. "What I’m dealing with right now is at a whole 'nother level," Sanders said on former NFL cornerback Asante Samuel's podcast in late May.

Article is from today but prior to his press conference which hasn't happened yet.

It has been widely reported that he has had clot and circulation issues, with toe amputations.

Strike mentioned something to that affect.  I never knew about that.  I hope he's ok, I don't want anything bad to happen to him.
