I was suspended several times, sometimes fairly, sometimes unfairly, for participating in the ugliness that erupted over political discussion ever since the MAGA movement emerged. I really do believe that Donald Trump ushered in an ugliness and bitterness in political discussion in this country that was not present before. I saw it in these discussion boards and I see it in real life. Conservatives and liberals who used to get along even when they often disagreed, who used to be civil with each other, are now rude and uncivil. It’s gotten to the point where I’m afraid to engage in political discussion with most people, and it was NEVER like this before Trump. So do I blame him? I absolutely do.
