This is just the PSF with people saying what they are actually thinking.  That is a good thing.

Anyway, to the bolded, I can't disagree with your gamer analogy, it has become somewhat like that in recent years.  As @Pimpadeaux pointed out, we used to be able to bash on each other in one thread (and believe me when I say the bashing used to be much worse, in somewhat of a "tough love" sorta way) but then be kind to each other/have discussions outside of controversial topics.  Some of our more recent posters seem unable to do that, which makes it difficult to share personal issues.  For instance...

Yes that's exactly what happens.  The mod doesn't just suspend/ban the person reported.  When a post gets reported, the mod reads the thread, deletes offending post(s), and takes action on those involved.
