I read the first three paragraphs, but shouldn't have even bothered reading that much:

Quote

Late to the airport, a colleague and I scurried out of the Uber and ran to make our flight. As we headed toward security, I looked for a way out of the packed crowd of travelers and saw a gap between the airline’s kiosks. Without thinking, I moved the sign blocking what I thought was an exit a few inches and slipped behind it. Amid the din of chattering passengers, I didn’t hear my work friend call out that what I was doing was a mistake.

Turns out, I had unwittingly cut the line of passengers and bypassed the TSA security guard who was checking IDs. When I looked for my colleague, I instead found three police officers, one of whom asked me what I was doing. “I’m not quite sure,” I laughed. After they pointed out that I needed to join the end of the line, the officers laughed along with me.

I walked back and found my colleague, a Black woman, who had watched the little vignette of White privilege unfold. “I would have been stripped searched and detained for hours [if I had done that],” she told me. “Or at least made to go through the long process that is undoubtedly documented in all those TSA handbooks.”

Just cause @peenie wants to believe she would have been treated differently than the other woman doesn't make it true.  And you're the one who says anecdotal evidence is sh*t.  Well, when YOUR evidence starts out that way........it's sh*t.

I've posted about the numerous times I was pulled over in college for no reason, once even when I was pulled over on a date with my lights on, and another when I was stopped at a stoplight.  My transgression wasn't that I was black, which I'm not.  It's that I drove a lowered red mini truck that was all the rage in that era.  Cops suck, and should be hammered when appropriate.   That said, they aren't specifically picking on black people.

It’s shameful that anyone is skeptical of white privilege. It’s shameful that I should have to provide you examples and statistics. It’s a waste of my time because you guys will NEVER accept it. I feel sad for you, and will work hard to defeat anyone in politics who thinks like you do.

Did you know that Blacks invented:

Your blatant bigotry isn’t funny. It doesn’t make any larger point. It’s just stupid and hateful.

Everybody has to hustle for their worth.  It ain't specific to black people.  HTH.

I posted it to make the point that unfortunately, race still plays a part in our success and financial development. I can only use a celebrity as an example because they are known to us all. She explained that she has a large amount of work under her belt: on television, movies and on Broadway. She has the awards to prove that she is capable, talented and respected. YET, she makes 1/10 of what her white counterpart makes which is 1/2 of what white men make. The post was about awareness and sensitivity.

I don't know how much he makes, but Dave is a good example of a black entertainer that seems to be doing very well.

I'm reminded of my conservative uncle (who I often disagree with)....

I have a black history month story. At the beginning of the month my daughter was confronted by 3 black boys in school who told her that she had to drape herself in a blm flag, research 3 rappers who they listed and be able to talk about, as well as pay them each $30 for reparations otherwise they were going to jump her and beat her up.

We chuckled and I explained white privilege to her. Also, I doubt she’ll be celebrating black history month this month or any other month.

If the myth of white privilege isn't obvious to you, it never will be.

Regarding politics, if you just stay in California, all is good, you can live how you want in nice weather. If you ever do want to move though, please dear God, do not move to a red state. Find another blue one.

I could have probably posted this in the Baltimore school thread since we are in a private school in the county who has recently approved students from the city to attend on grants from the state.

Here’s the honest truth Voltaire: based on my travels if I ever moved it would be to a red state. You know why? Because they have nicer people.

It’s absolutely true. While I profoundly disagree with the politics of conservatism, most conservatives that I know in real life are decent, salt of the earth types, while most of the liberals I know are, well, jerks. And sure this is anecdotal but I’ve seen it again and again. So I’d much rather be with people I like personally than those I agree with politically.

Your response was insipid because you wrote “I stopped at 3 paragraphs.” Of course it was anecdotal because that’s the only part you read. You didn’t bother to read any of the statistical evidence offered because you wanted to attack me as a supposed hypocrite for relying on anecdotes. Insipid.

Hopefully we’re done now? You’ve demonstrated that your posts aren’t really worthy of further response.

Actually I went back and read your whole article just to make sure I was being fair.  And I was MORE than fair.  And WTF are you talking about statistic evidence?  I think there was one stat cited and I'm not going to go back and pick apart the study they mentioned.  It doesn't really matter.  It was about one area and one specific issue.  It doesn't prove systemic racism or white privilege.  So yeah, we're done, because time and time again you post links to things that don't support the crap you're spewing.  Rinse and repeat, in every thread.

Wow, that's quite an admission.

I thought you'd be happier with your own as I am. I can be nice to you online, where it's OK to discuss things civilly, and agree to disagree, but I don't -like- want you to have any influence voting in my school district or city council or congressional election.  I mean, I don't mind reading about blue state insanity in the newspaper, because that's how blue state people want to live, and that's their prerogative, but I don't want to get any blue onto myself or my kids.

We're dedicated to hard work, decent moral values, equality and meritocracy rather than equity, In our eyes, people of your persuasion have overrun and corrupted all the institutions, so we are trying hard to inoculate and insulate our selves and our children against people with your political views. Doing so means build parallel institutions we control as a rear guard action. We're tired of getting canceled and bullied and try to prevent your kind from screwing us over and to keep you out of our lives and our children's lives as much as possible.

So -and this will come off as mean- but in our personal lives, we don't want anything to do with you. I can do my job anywhere which means finding a ruby red community in a ruby red state and never having to go to California, and not missing it. That the feeling is not he same and that  you would want to live with us.... blows my mind. The feeling is not mutual, not meaning you personally, you are probably a nice guy and responsible neighbor, but I would not ever, ever, ever want to live in a blue community. Visiting is in the cards as that's where the good museums and entertainment centers are. But I like traditional social, cultural, and moral values, I like police, and I don't want my kids to have to be exposed to anything more than the slightest dashes of blue until they are adults.

Ideally they'd be fixed and functional schools.

In reality, it may not be possible. A great deal of inner city schools that focking suck now, have sucked for decades and for generations. Kids are more important than schools; if the kids are given vouchers to attend other schools, let them.  Let parents and students vote with their feet. We've had this discussion at least twice, and you're always shocked that I mean that. If that means inner city schools collapse, because parents send their kids elsewhere, so be it.

The only ounce of statistical evidence was a reference to a study done by Newsday on real estate agents not providing equal treatment. If you go on over to the actual study done by Newsday you find this nugget of truth:

Quote

“This is something that didn’t happen in the deep South,” said Greg Squires, professor of public policy at George Washington University in Washington, D.C., who offered advice about structuring the testing program.

“It happened in one of the most educated, most liberal regions of the country. These are significant numbers.”

Using your own statistical study it seems to point out liberals and liberal cities being racist.  It appears to me the author unknowingly, just like yourself, has made up this fairy tale of white privilege to hide the fact that liberals are so racist.  So before you move please take a long hard look in the mirror, you made your bed, you lie in it.

It breaks down that every student in Baltimore City Public Schools gets $21,600 a year for education. You can send your kid to a top notch private school for that much. And if you’re black… 25-50% of that because of “white privilege”. Isn’t that ironic.

Well, yes, I've been saying for years that racism never left the Democrat Party and here is yet MORE proof.  Don't worry, in 10 years the same liberals will be saying that the party's were switched back then and they were actually Republicans.

The same team that fought FOR slavery, implemented Jim Crow, started the KKK and whose policies have kept black people down for 60+ years keep saying they're NOT the racist ones.  Like, it just disappeared and transferred to "the other guys".  Stuff like that doesn't go away - it just becomes more quiet and subversive but make no mistake - it's in every fiber of Democrats.

However, every once in a while you'll get guys like Tim and GutterTrash/GutterTard  who will says something out lout like they did today in the two other threads that proved it as much.

For real though, if it happened IN SCHOOL as you claim, those boys would be facing expulsion or at least suspension. They were threatening her with violence. I'd be meeting with all of their parents and the police.

Let's take the next link from 2017, six years ago.  I'll just point out a couple that supposedly "prove" white privilege:

Google "beauty".  Well, google has fixed that algorithm.  Try it.  Despite blacks only making up 14% of the people in the US I have to scroll down to page 3 to find someone with blonde hair.  That is if you ignore the black woman with bleached blonde hair and the amputee.

Media Bias:

, in “progressive” Seattle, people of Color can’t even find a safe yoga class for POC without a White person crying discrimination.
