Easily the most gifted receiver of all time. Shame he got drafted by the Lions.

Excellent job ranking. Thank you for your input.

This isn't about me. What about Megatron?

I'd put him top 5.  And Rice over Moss on your list.

Maybe Rice, Mega, Moss, Owens.

It is hard to argue with Moss and Rice as the top two.   Rice had the better carreer, but Moss had stretches where he performed like the GOAT.  But I would put Rice at #1.

Rice

Moss

Megatron

Owens

After the top 4, there is a significant drop-off.  You get into your Marvin Harrisons and Larry Fitzgeralds who had remarkable careers, but never as dominate as those 4.  Harrison was largely boosted by being Peytons main man.  But as far at top 4, you could flip 1 and 2 or 3 and 4, and I could not argue.

Ive seen footage of him with 3 defenders on him and he puts his hand up to signal that he is open and he catches it.

Moss is one of my favorites, but Rice is #1. Anything else is silly.

IF Moss gave 110% and played his whole career with Montana and Young, who knows.

Megatron was awesome. I think he quit at the right time. Made some money, healthy, going nowhere with Detroit.

His hands were iffy.  Bottom of the top 10.

Rice

Moss

Mega

Fitzgerald.

LF and Mega could have been right there with them if they had even decent QB’s the bulk of their career.  TO almost always did.

Tough when one crosses eras and accounts for teams, and schemes.  I did not see Don Hutson live so I leave him out.

Going back in my memory I am going to have to rank Lance Alworth, Paul Warfield, Lynn Swann, Sterling Sharpe, James Lofton, Steve Largent, Charley TaylorJerry Rice, Calvin Johnson, Randy Moss,  Deandre Hopkins, Andre Reed, maybe though maybe he is a tier down, like Chris Carter. Larry Fitzgerald has to make the list.  Don Maynard, Marvin Harrison, Raymond Berry.

Tough assignment.  Also with the new league a couple of guys, young guys playing right now will make any list in 10 years. Hmm

1. Rice

2. Moss, Sharpe, Johnson

3. Lance alworth

4 Warfield, Taylor, Fitzgerald,

5  Lofton, Swan, Don Maynard

I don't care Jerry Rice owns every the receiving record by a mile, he shouldn't be in the top 5.

The first 10 years of his career Rice played in the era of dynasties with no salary cap and Joe Montana as qb.  His opponents and competition were still smoking cigarettes, overweight, had poor training and nobody took the game very seriously.  Rice was the exception which is why he dominated, but put him in today's NFL with salary cap and top level competition... Rice would be a "good" wr, not great.

Is that why he went for 1200 yards in Oakland at age 39 and 40 in a different era.

Dumb argument.

Stafford threw the ball 727 times in 2012. (Lol)

Joe Montana threw over 500 passes (barely) twice in his career.

1.  Rice

2.  Moss

3.  Harrison

From there, I can’t rank.  Harrison would be #2 if not for being such a mega a-hole that the Colts released him when he still has more to give and then no one would take him on.  His hands and feet were the best ever.  Lack of size kept him from being more dominant.

Moss never had a chance to catch Rice, but he’s clearly #2.

You can make a case for Megatron at #4 maybe.

That's all ya got? 1,100 and 1,200 yds in Oakland in two years and that proves he's the best of the best?  Never mind he didn't have double digit TDs in either year and was being fed the ball with 150 targets.

I like Rice, seems like a nice guy and all, but in today's game - he'd be nothing more than good. He's like say... DK Metcalf. A solid/good WR getting 1,000+- yds every year. But not in the same league as the best of the best.

Randy Moss was the best in my book. Calvin Johnson was special. Compared to those kind of sick athletes.... Rice just doesn't match up.  His reputation lives off those glory years from the 80's. He was "great" for that era, but not now.  Nobody today would prefer to have Jerry Rice over Moss or Johnson.

You stated he would be just a good WR in this era.  Well he was a good WR with his body breaking down at focking 40 which is unheard of at WR....in a different era.  Hell in the early 2000s you could still touch WR compared to post 2005.  What would he have dome at age 26 in 2002?

Your logic doesn't add up.

Gretzky isn't the best hockey player ever.  He played in an older era.

Brady isn't the best QB ever he tried harder than other QBs and had a rich wife and took paycuts.

Don't care for the way you look at it.  But to each their own.  He ran a slow 40 thats thr basis of your whole argument I am pretty sure.

Dont know where to rank him for sure, but i do know that Matt Stafford owes pretty much every dollar he's ever made to him.

I am not sure about that. Every WR looked better playing for Stafford. What did Kenny Golladay get 4/72 million to suck in New York

He was already often injured. He had the physical tools you want and stafford got To throw to him during his best stretches. Also stafford > Daniel Jones
