3 days after we got married, my new spouse told me she's transgender. Many thought it would break us up, but it brought us closer.

I can relate.

3 weeks after I got married, my wife told me she was Bruce Jenner.

Can’t even get the quote right. It’s $3.

Or maybe I misheard you. You’re kind of muffled behind that hood.

I don't know about that.  There's definitely something off here.

How do you marry someone without knowing the person's gender?   Seems like an important discussion.

I don't remember ever discussing my wife's gender before we got married in the 10+ years we were together.

Not sure why people would be looking for news there anyway.   Clickbait at it's finest.

My only question would be that if they dated for so long, how would they not know their partner was trans?

Not that I ever saw.

So it's probably safe to say that in your situation, you made an assumption that your wife, who you think has never had a dìck, was a woman.

Now, if a person has a dìck and thinks they're a chick.  They probably should mention that to their significant other, so I guess your situation isn't really relevant.  Although I'm sure if your wife disclosed to you that she was actually a trans man 3 days after your wedding, you'd have been super cool with it.

Now, of course, maybe she didn't figure out she was a chick until 3 days after the marriage, but Occam's razor would suggest this person may have wanted the security of legal union before disclosing her true gender identity.

It's probably safe to say that everybody probably assumes the person they are with are the gender they are presenting as.   Hence my snide comment about how most of us probably haven't had a discussion about our SO's gender like you suggested was so important.

Yes, that is on the person who is struggling with that to disclose that to the other person.  No, I would not have been cool with it, but I am also not a queer person like the one in the article.

The real story are these women who feel like they have to settle for these effeminate man creatures.  Sad, makes you wonder what happened to them early in life.

I didn't think I needed to clarify that you need to have the discussion if you aren't adhering to gender norms, but I guess this is the internet.

I think @edjr had it right in the OP... "Mental Illness".  He got the other thing right as well.  It's a "look at me" article.

Hey man, you ask a dumb question and you get dumb replies.    You know 100% how this could happen - the person going through the issues didn't tell their partner.

I take issue with that not occurring in a relationship and the fact that this story is evidently "news".

I am sure I have told the board.

My 20 year old lesbeen niece, has a "boyfriend" that was born a female.

They work at starbucks.

eta: In their defense, no one without a mental disorder/straight person, would ever date either.

I'm more sad about the women that end up with toxic males who treat them like sh1t.  They definitely went through some stuff early in life.

I am 50 focking years old. Went to my buddies an 1/2 an hour ago (he is 56) to grab some golf clubs for my kid.

We are both members at the same golf course and I told him something happened last week and I wasn't happy about it.  he says to me "you know I always told you to make sure to ask questions"

Imagine talking to a grown ass man that way   Imagine how he talks to his wife

I disapprove of dropping something this important on your wife of 3 days, it's a selfish d1ck move and doesn't bode well for a future of honest communication.

Guess that makes me sick, oh well. :dunno:

Well played - exactly the type of thing they expect the lefties to say.  Personally, I don't GAF about who marries who or who bangs who.  What I disapprove of is the part where that wasn't disclosed, and the general tone from the left that it shouldn't be an issue if they do tell you after the fact - none of which is acceptable to me.  Guess I'm sick too.

If you really believe gender is fluid and gender is a spectrum...there is no such thing as male or female.   So it is a complete fraud.  Everyone is 'transexual' if you don't believe that the obvious truth that gender is genetic and binary.   This new genderism is total meaningless nonsense.

This is like one day saying you feel like eggs and bacon and the next day you feel like cereal.  It is silly.

I don't approve, disapprove, give any focks, or whatever.  I'm glad these people are happy.  I'm not sick, I'm perfectly healthy.
