What happens after the end of Affirmative Action?

Asians were not displaced from any college due to blacks!

Universities displace Asians not to admit blacks but to keep a white majority!

If race truly doesn’t matter, it shouldn’t be on applications at all. We don’t require applicants to state their sexual preference, we don’t ask their weight or religion, so why are we asked our race???

I think the older AA court decision is what allowed this anti-Asian discrimination to happen. In order to secure a majority for affirmative action, they had to convince one judge who wouldn’t sign onto the idea that black students needed accommodation to make up for the long history of inequity. So, they agreed to make the reasoning based on maintaining a “diverse’ campus population. Well, if most of your top applicants are Asian, that allows administrators to decrease the number of Asians accepted in the name of a “‘diverse” campus. I agree with your statement. Asian people were pushed out by white people, and black people took the blame. It’s quite possible this change will lead to even more white kids getting denied admittance to schools of their choice. This is most likely NOT going to give the right-wing what they wanted.

I'll speak for myself here, if it leads to more Asians and less whites, I'm fine with it.  I don't want my children given admission if they don't earn it on merit.  I also don't want them denied if their scores warrant admission.

Please note: I am not upset at all about this ruling. I think it will help blacks who have earned their degree from top universities, from being labeled less qualified.

A white colleague expressed her dismay that neither of her 2 children got into Emory University yet my daughter did because she was black. None of her children had high GPA, none were honor students, none took AP classes or were skipped a grade. You see! Whiteness alone was enough criteria in this parent’s mind to have admitted her children into Emory. I explained that my daughter’s grades and SAT score sat right in the middle of who they accept. And I had to say it’ it gently and nicely despite the insult and racism of her statement. This country doesn’t allow me to speak as freely as she spoke to me. But….maybe my daughter’s race WAS taken into consideration? But I know she was qualified! I was also low income. I don’t know for sure if she was an affirmative action student.

My daughter didn’t want to put her race on her application. Emory required a photo in the application. Yep, they sure did. (They said it will be used for the student directory and it was.)

Last year my office mate who is Indian also gave me a similar speech when her son didn’t get accepted to Emory. She didn’t say anything about my daughter but rather that blacks are admitted over deserving Asians. It’s maddening. We are the smallest percent of students. We are the scapegoats and I’m glad it’s now off of our backs.

And all these examples are exactly why you, and critical thinking AA's, should embrace this ruling.   As an aside, I have no doubt that your daughter earned her way through school.  I remember you speaking about not wanting race to be a consideration when she went to college.    She seems to be a grounded, intelligent, critical thinker.  You should be proud, and I'm sure you are.

This won’t stop some people from blaming others if their kids don’t get the school. I already see people claim that California colleges secretly do AA even though they’re not allowed to. Because.. it MUST be since their kid didn’t get in. I have a feeling many will turn their animus towards Asian students as well.

It’s just a prediction. I’ll be pleasantly surprised if it doesn’t come true.

The legacy argument is also a joke. Colleges are controlled by leftists, so if colleges use legacy as a factor in admissions, then it's ultimately leftists who are OK with it. Colleges don't give a crap about what conservatives think, they do care about what leftists think, so if leftists were really opposed to legacy admissions, they would go away.

The retarded children of donors don't have the political cover affirmative action provides any more. By banning AA, we should also get legacy admissions sh*tcanned for free.

Exactly. Leftists using black people , again, as a cover for what they do. They want to think, and have others think, they are virtuous.  Fact is, they still want that money coming in so they can live undeserved lives of luxury.  Same thing as Nike and Disney and many others. Pay no mind to how we make our money, in bed with communist China and their use of slave labor.  Look over here, at  all the SJW nonsense that we support.

Please tell @squistion and the others who seem to think the white liberals like themselves need to speak for you.  They seem to think that you really don't understand like they do and that they need to fight for you.  Which really, as we all know, it's just another form of racism.

It's really about making themselves feel better and not actually helping minorities out.

GutterPedo was so invested in that account being a bot he's spent the last 2 days insisting it was.

All of his posts were predicated on that lie!  Now what does he do?

Dear Peenie: It’s the white guilt Liberals that are being called out, not black people. Once again they are acting as if they are speaking on your behalf, because they know better than you. HTH

The media has an agenda to divide Blacks and Whites.

Congrats to your daughter. 👍

Outstanding. And nor should you care. This decision is less about white people or black people and more about who has earned it and who has not, skin color has nothing to do with it.

It has already been removed in many states. I think everyone will be fine. It’s a new day. The internet and online college and all the other opportunities available will help those that didn’t get to reap the benefits of Affirmative Action. I’d like racial classifications eliminated as well.

It has, and predictably in those states the black and Latino population become less represented at those top schools.  No system is perfect, but we can't deny that has earning potential ramifications.

You don't speak on behalf of all black people, just like I don't speak on behalf of all white people, obviously.

And in CA and MI specifically, once they banned it, admissions of blacks dropped.  Using them as an example, it's quite likely we'll see a similar drop nationwide.  That was the point of the legislation.

You think you know what black people want as you think they're too stupid to speak for themselves.  Look at your response to peenie. It SMACKS of racism.

Of course, you're also not doing it for them - you're doing it for yourself.

Glad I could help you identity your racism.

Um, no.  I never said that.  According to polls, it's been split.  I don't speak for all black people, neither does peenie.  I don't think black people are stupid to speak for themselves.

You however think you can speak for me, repeating these racist lies that you've been taught that have no basis in truth.
