Watching "In Search of Darkness" Part 3, horror movie docuseries, available on Shudder or AMC+.  Really good stuff for anyone who's a fan of horror, especially retro horror (70s/80s).

They're doing the segment on the Satanic Panic.  For those that don't know, this was the time in 80s where we were told by our leaders and the media that Satan was out to get us, either via movies or heavy metal music.  Obviously it turned out to be all BS, as it was just people trying to legislate morality, create fear and push their religious agenda.

I'm watching this and I'm like damn, this is exactly what we're seeing now with the culture war waged from the right.  The gays, save the kids from books and sex and blood sucking satanists.  Then I googled and found some good articles, of course I was not the first one to make this connection.

But they never ask us to be afraid of what is truly terrifying in this world: Abusive white men in power. Abusive families who torture and kick out their LGBTQ kids. Abusive police officers. Abusive white women who use the police to punish Black folks. Unstable men with access to guns. Abusive religious leaders who speak of God as a tyrant who hates everyone they hate. Abusive institutions that oppress anyone deemed “other.”

This has always been my concern; the unintended consequences that the Left never seems to consider.  I've never thought that a true trans person is using the other restroom to cause trouble.  It's the psychos who want to attack women and children who take advantage of such normalization.

This is exactly the kind of mindset that - when subjected to a child - leads to depression, anxiety, low self-esteem and other mental issues in trans adults.

To label transgender people as pedophiles is nonsense. 

A vast majority of sexually abused children know their abuser, and a vast majority of those abusers are men.

I spent a lot of my childhood hearing adults and children with your mindset spouting hatred about those in the LGBTQ community, and you wonder why someone who grows up with this suffers mental illness in adulthood.

Education is the key, but I'm not a fan of so many of the ways the trans community shoves it down the public's collective throat.

I prefer politics and positions of power to advance that education and dispell so many of the hateful myths that people such as yourself propagate.

No, and I wouldn't take my kids to something like that, either. Nor would I participate in such a thing. But I'd be quick to correct anyone whom my children can hear talking about how trans people are pedophiles. And if they hear other kids in school talking in such a way because that's what they hear at home, I'll take it up with the principal and all the way up to the school board, if necessary.

This is the main problem and there is a movement to make the trans ideology "cool" and it's being pushed on impressionable kids (sometimes without parental knowledge).  This is leading to more documented gender confusion and mental health issues.

Wanted to point out to @BunnysBastatrds that the above is clearly a timschochet alias. He can't get attention trolling people with his main account, and so "this person" has resorted to all this. 

I'll reiterate that timschochet, squistion and Sho Nuff are going to absolutely ruin this place for good.  At "the other place", they had, with all their aliases, probably a combined half a million posts altogether over how many years. Driving people away and ruining the community there for personal sport. Now the "other place" is basically on permanent lockdown from the after effects of that kind of pure contagion.

My Kids are taught to respect others based on character not color, ethnicity, gender or sexual preferences. We have friends & family of all makes & models. 

As a parent it is my job to educate them on life. My kids know what's right, what's wrong and what's acceptable.
