If you are the Giants, would you trade a #1 & #2 next year for DTR?

In a weird move, the Browns today named Josh Dobbs the backup QB, then immediately traded Dobbs to the Cardinals and named DTR the backup QB.  its almost like there was a trade in place for DTR but it fell through.

League probably stepped in and said “no, you can’t trade eight 1st round picks for a player — we don’t care how great he is!”

Trey Lance traded to the Cowboys for a four.

I guess I should set a reminder for next week to post how the price just went down when the Giants have a get-right game against the Cardinals.

Lol all this comment proves is that you want to be petty and arent here to discuss things or be taken seriously.  The board gets it.

You're accusing others of being petty and not taking things seriously?

You're the guy that said America was gonna have a civil war for years, right?

And then when that didn't happen, you pivoted to nuclear war, and guaranteed it would happen in 2022.

Then you start a thread about how the Giants should trade their 1 and 2 for a 5th round rookie, and then you say the price went up after one game.

You're a board joke, a clown, the least serious person here, and accusing others of the same thing shows your complete lack of self awareness.

He doesn't even realize that was a commentary on his overreaction to a single game.

Not a nuanced thinker that one.

it didnt?  the left acts like 1/6 was a civil war and they are hunting down anyone who participated.  i made a parallel with the American revolution.

1.  Boston Massacre was in 1770.
2.  We had a 3 year cooldown and build up afterwards.
3.  Boston Tea Party was in 1773.
4.  Many who participated were hunted down.  Prominent colonials denouned the tea party but later denounced the harsh punishment for the participants (sound familiar to 1/6?)
5.  We had a 3 year cooldown and build up afterwards.
6.  American revolution in 1776.

The bottom line is it DID take years for the revolution to occur.

The only thing that can prevent DTR from engaging in nuclear civil war with the Russian Football Giants is injuries. :(

that will chill any hype for DTR for sure.  all of the criticisms of his game was on display today.

criticisms of DTR:

1. he can play hot and cold.
2. can fumble.
3. can make incorrect decisions.

as good as he looked at UCLA and preseason, pretty much every single negative was on the field in this Ravens game.  Sadly, not a single detractor in this forum could come up with that list of negatives.  I had to do it, which also tells me a lot.

It should tell you why teams don’t deal 1st round picks for 5th rounders just because they look good in a few exhibition games.

I don’t want him to be the QB for the Giants for the obvious reason.

One of two things will arise in this thread in 5 years...

1) Justin was wrong and everyone will hammer him

2) Justin was right, but no one will give him credit and just say he was being a contrarian because NO ONE had DTR rated that high.

What would have to happen for Justin to be right? Why would any team trade a 1 and 2 for DTR at the time he wrote that? If DTR had a good game yesterday, no one is trading that for him. If he takes over the starting job and is an all pro then maybe we can talk.

he wasn’t being contrarian he was being bombastic

I believe his main point was that DTR was an upgrade over Jones and that he's a franchise QB.

I'll happily admit RetardInCharge was right if DTR gets traded for a 1st and a 2nd.  Doesn't even have to be the giants.

This is the one time that I ever kind of sympathized with a Justin viewpoint and only because I’m a biased unabashed UCLA homer- and naturally I look really stupid. I should know better. If Justin says the sky is blue I need to figure that it must really be orange.

That's how I took it. It's more a slight against that shltty QB they have now.

Who the fook is DTR?

DeShawn Watson's backup at QB in Cleveland. He's a rookie 5th rounder out of UCLA who looked good in preseason. Justin saw him a lot in college. Then, because Watson missed last week's game, DTR got called into action and we all got to see for ourselves what the hype is all about.

vs Baltimore: 19/36 121 yards 0 TDs 3 INTs // 4 rushes for 24 yards// sacked 4 times for 48 yards // one fumble (recovered by Cleveland)

Not a good start to his NFL career. Cleveland lost 28-3.

His main point was that the Giants might consider trading a 1 and 2 for a guy they passed on at least four times in the draft because he had a few encouraging preseason performances.

Being an upgrade over Danny Dimes isn’t saying much. ;)

Browns are starting a guy named PJ Walker this week over DTR; an undrafted XFL and CFL star out of Temple seven years ago, he just gave up an INT on his first drive.

Rooting for Cleveland obviously but... uh ... not very hopeful.

I think this question could be a fulcrum.   Dorian Thompson-Robinson is having an A+ camp but no path to starting for the Browns in an NFL that is super thirsty for QBs.  The New York Giants have a really good young head coach in place but need to upgrade at QB. Would you consider pulling the trigger on this deal given what weve seen from DTR at the glorious institution of UCLA (which the Chargers got their colors from) and in the Browns camp to this point?

🤣

Please change thread title to, "Why does the NFL keep letting the Giants play primetime games?"  Its like they don't want anyone to watch.

In my dynasty superflex league I have Watson and Richardson as my starters.

So today I'm starting Ridder and PJ Walker. I bet they both kill it.

Cleveland D held SF to a field goal, but they won't win if they can't score, which seems will be an ongoing problem. The mirage in Miami seems to be done, Dolphins back into a tie with Carolina.

Miami showing us again that once they get in gear, they can do damage in a hurry.
