MAGA republican is currently the #1 dogwhistle to anger and motivate young voters.  You will see that everywhere up to election day.  its just getting started.

Anytime the right tries to unify the liberals and media will attack the movement. Alt Right, Maga Republicants etc...

Stephen King is a liberal. If you don’t like him, don’t read him.

I just started reading his memoir/writing book "On Writing" to help with my own memoir activities.  Interesting seeing how he got into writing -- basically he was sick for most of a year when he was young and was bored, so he read and wrote alot.  Then his Mom gave him a very positive reinforcement to one of his early stories.  It's amazing how something like that can shape a person's path.

Anyway, I've only gotten to his HS years but so far he seems like an enterprising capitalist.  I'll have to see if I can see signs of him deteriorating into a liberal.

Capitalism and liberalism are not contradictory. I am a firm liberal and a firm capitalist. So, I would argue, are Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton, and Nancy Pelosi. Donald Trump, AOC, and Bernie Sanders are clearly not capitalists based on their constant desires for interference in the marketplace.

Love a lot of his older stuff but 11/23/62 was fantastic

Is that the prequel to 11/22/63?

Great author as I have many of his novels. But most of endings sucked meteor shiot. Most of his movies were rewritten by screenwriters which made them better. Great starter but  bad endings.

I stopped reading him years back after the last book of the gunslinger series. He is so egotistical he added himself as one of the characters in the poorly written book. After that I was done. Then he got hit by a car and seemed to have lost his mind. It really is too bad. He was one of my favorite authors. The dead zone was amazing to me. The drawing of the 3 still floats around in my brain.

Whoa, that's weird - I just started that last night.   I was planning on a bunch of King movies for Oct and I used to read a lot him in HS and college, but not much since so I thought that might give me inspiration on a novel to start with after reading this to see where his head was at.   I read most of the early stuff and tailed off after the Tommyknockers and haven't read much after that point.

I'm sure King is trembling in his loafers at the thought of losing out on all those MAGAmook book sales.

I read many of his books in the 80’s. Loved Christine and how he would have a quote from a rock song at the beginning of every chapter. I never detected any politics in his writings. Maybe it was subtle. But it appears his TDS has warped his mind some more and now that he has his wealth he can preach and not worry about it. Which makes him a punk.

Agreed. It is one of my favorite books, but the ending is garbage. I read all of his earlier books through his cocaine addiction phase, which I think ended around the time of Tommyknockers. Haven't liked him nearly as much since. Everything up to It was great.

He’s actually a poor writer.  He has no sense of pacing, weak on character development and clubs the reader over the head with terrible efforts at foreshadowing.  He’s done nothing experimental and his books are totally formulaic.

I was a young reader and picked up my first King novel at age 12 because my mother believed he was so awesome. I read 5 of his books by age 18.  His collection of short stories under the pen name Bachman was probably his best and he should have stuck with short stories.   The best novel he produced was The Talisman, which was co-authored by Peter Straub.  I consider King a hack who writes pablum pulp.

Makes sense, it's fiction, is it not?

Funny, after I posted it I actually thought that you might come here and say exactly this.  I probably should have gone back and changed it to Leftist, since King's take has more of the religious zealotry typical of the sickness of Leftism.

You should advise Anheuser Busch on how to handle their Bud Light situation.

He’s not a leftist. Many of his books argue against collectivism of all sorts.

MAGAmooks drink plenty of beer. How many of them read anything more substantial that the latest conservative meme on Twitter or the chyron on Newsmax? Maybe a short propaganda piece on Breitbart?

Let's face it: as a whole that demographic ain't exactly the target audience for long form fiction. Unless you count books by Bill O'Reilly. 😜

Woketards commenting on books is kinda funny considering the filth they push on kids in the school library.

I agree on both. The Long Walk short story was a great read. The Talisman was very long but a great novel. I read a lot also when I was young.
