I loved Stern back in the day. If he'd have gone South Park and stood up to the woke crowd all along rather than ingratiate himself to them, I'd have more respect.

He was 10x worse than Russell Brand but he's survived this long by kissing the woke ring.  If cancel culture has finally soured on him over how he was 20 years ago,  well he was great twenty years ago, at least they'd be consistent rather than hypocritical.

But, I don't know that they have turned on him. He's willing to play their game on their terms. Consistency isn't a priority with them so much as obedience. It's for the woke leftoid fascist turds to decide what they're going to do with him, not normal people saying "what about him?"

I'm temporarily lifting my self-imposed ban from this forum to say the guy in that video is a complete idiot.  And I don't even like Stern.

Howie's U-turn is a great example of dudes back in the 90s completely being shamed into doing a 180 in todays world.  We have many here. Of course it could be to HTs point of getting worried when #metoo and woke started to gain steam.  It also could have been about not wanting to upset higher up lefties as he wasnt as big as he was to make his own rules.  I believe Howard; which is sort of mind blowing, leaned right back in his heyday.  But then again I dont think he was THAT political then.  A classic case of if you are an entertainer, diving into politics within your material is not going to help.  People turn you on to laugh and make light of crap.  You go hard left you drive away viewers.  You go hard right and you drive away viewers.  I would assume he was plenty smart enough to understand this.  Maybe he had some later life change of heart about his persona that came about naturally.  

Back in the day I would have bet money on him going out like he came in for the most part.  

Perhaps he got older and naturally wanted to tame it down.  I could understand that in a sense.  But a total 180 not so much.

I cant speak on it like others can as I didnt grasp the era in the right age.  But he was a pioneer of sorts.  As a kid I enjoyed his E channel show.  Didnt hurt he had strippers picking up quarters with their butt cheeks.  Of course blurred.  But still.   He was off thr wall and pushed the limits.  He gets his due from me for his early years and then prime.  

Beetlejuice was always a hit amongst my friends.  Just ridiculous.

Was never a stern fan.  I always found myself on the enemies side.  Was an Imus listener for many years during the long commuting years.  Then picked up O&A.  Both of them fueded with Stern.  I tried listening to stern couple of times but no appeal.  I didn't even think he was still on the air anymore.

Holy crap dude. How do you remember that. I wasn’t even thing about that when I posted. Yeah and. I don’t think I hid the stories - although nothing great like BB fingering Edie Brickel. I was on the radio program when Melissa Gilbert was getting married and I brought one of those machines where money flies around and what ever Mellisa caught was her gift. Mellisa and Joan refused to go in so Gary the retard dressed as Santa Claus sent in. My only interaction with Howard was only on the radio didn’t make it to the E! Recap. Hung with Jackie and Stuttering John in the green room - I smoked pot with Jackie years prior as he was friends with my buddies dad. I wore my 922-wine shirt (Jackie’s Jokeman hotline) and he smacked Stuttering John and said show me respect and go buy egg sandwiches. LOL. I got “yelled at” for touching the real doll in the studio - come on what 20 something male is going to see that and not cop a feel !

Other time (actually was first) was the WOR show in Secaucus- the idea was when Sinead O’Conner tore the Popes picture on SNL - what is her career options and it was a carny. We had a carnival setup and “she” was running a booth - I was in the next booth. Howard wasn’t there. Fred Norris was in the skit and produced by some guy that always wore an ascot - don’t remember his name. Was given 8x10 autographed head shots from the main cast.

Stern just got old and aged out.

Stern got too old to do they type of humor that made him popular 30 years ago because he would just sound like an old pervert. So hence the show got stale and boring when he tried to do serious interviews.

Whenever Gilbert Gottfried was on the Howard Stern show, it was magical and hilarious, especially their interactions with Amy Heckerling's babysitter, which I was delighted to see found its way to youtube all these years later.
