Uh Oh..The California dream may be cracking a bit

Recommended Posts

Quote

California’s budget deficit has skyrocketed to $68 billion mainly due to months of unexpectly low tax revenues, according to a new analysis from the Legislative Analyst’s Office released on Thursday.

This should be interesting.  How will they try to lie their way out of this?

Very interested to see, based on that tidbit, if Calif tries to increase taxes to cover this somehow.  Don't think that would go over well.

I considered it a "tell" when in the recent past Newsome mentioned considering the approach to pass a law to try to tax people who left the state.  They already knew this was coming of course.  This was easy to predict.  Their policies are going to bring that state to its knees.

My main problem is that eventually the sh!t stains will start to leave as well.  The good people, well good in theory...."good" would be never voting Democrat, the good people.....already left. So then where do these POS folks go?  Likely nearby states.

Bottom line, they are gutting their economy....and eventually they hollow it out to such an extent that it becomes an open air concentration camp in many areas.  Crime will keep rising as desperation rises. More and more businesses and good people leave, and then we have a concentration of dregs and criminals...

What did the tyrants expect when they ruined 40% of California small businesses with their authoritarian lockdowns?

They voted for it, they obviously want this.

But I thought California was the one that takes care of all the other states. Why are they so far in debt hmmm? Maybe it’s cause they spend way more than they make

By pointing out that the number is a result of racist math where equations must balance.

And then they'll do that to the next city/state they move to.

We definitely need a federal law that states if you voted yourself into a shiathole, you don't get to leave until you fix it.

Hopefully they don't cut government obligations like reparations they owe for all the vile civil rights infractions committed in that state.

We definitely had some, mostly involving police mistreatment of blacks over the years, and of course housing practices.

But our biggest civil rights crimes were against Chinese in the 19th century and Japanese during World War II.

Uh oh.  Forgot to acknowledge the First Peoples whose land was stolen and whose cultures were systematically suppressed first by Spanish Missionaries and then by white settlers during the gold rushes.  This is a major faux pas for a wokie like you.

The California Dream ended when the Mama's and Papa's broke up.  :(

It was just beginning for John Philips.  He always dreamed of having sex with his daughter.  Sometimes dreams do come true.

I can get behind this......if you voted for the people in power, you stay and suffer under what you did....   :headbanger:

Good morning. Man you guys love to rip on California. Jealous much?

We’ll figure it out: None of our problems are permanent.

These are unforced errors.  The people should not have to suffer while bad policies are being implemented.  That is not fair.

Surprised they aren’t blaming Trump

I am sure that is on the table, or maybe they just pretend its :maga: people or something.

You know what.....if they were to just pause.....and admit that they made some mistakes, things did not turn out the way intended, and they are going back to the drawing board to consider alternative approaches.... I would sing their praises.....

But instead, they double-down on bad ideas, and just make it worse...and worse....😐

Not enough tax revenue?  Maybe folks should stop paying illegals under the table to avoid having to file tax information...

This is a good example of what happens when one party controls all the branches of government and why we have to avoid this on the national level.

And really, isn't it degrading to them to keep them under the table instead of in chairs at the table?

The California dream died decades ago, when it became overpopulated and ungodly expensive.

Still a beautiful state though. Well when it’s not on fire or sliding into the ocean

We did have a bill that passed a year or so ago that allows gas taxes to be raised without voting on it.

They could use that to try and drum up more tax money too. And the penalties for leaving the state if you made all your money here.

It's already incredibly difficult to purchase a home here, let alone find a decent place to rent.

If anything, this should be a great reminder to not vote for Newsom when he runs for President. He often states that CA "leads the way" in a number of areas.

The plight of California should render him a non-factor in any future election, even PTA board.

I’m not a fan of Newsom in particular.

But the problem is that Democratic proposals are so infinitely superior to Republican proposals on a majority of issues (not all of them, but a clear majority) that I’m forced to vote Democrat in every Presidential election for the foreseeable future.

Once again, another "I wish this was true" hope post from Tim.  Truth, logic and reality have been completely removed from it, of course.

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.  Liberals are far more concerned with social currency and the power it affords than the quality of solutions.  Saying things, and doing things, that make them feel good int he moment or elevate their perception of self among peers take precedence over sound logical solutions.

Not unlike a child that rebels against their parents because "they know better".....these people employ just idiotic policy, then when it comes back to bite them are apparently butthurt.....

I wonder, do they give a rats arse about anyone but themselves?
