The victim, Kailee, has severe brain damage and there are Facebook posts from friends saying that the family has been told she is not expected to survive.

Nobody is claiming the assailant shouldn’t be punished here, and to the full extent of the law. At least not on this Bored, that I’ve seen.

Whereas with Floyd, many on the right (especially afterward) suggested or outright said there was nothing wrong with it.
