Trump's NY Election Interference Trial - Trump is found guilty on all 34 counts

Trump's remarks at Trump Tower are done. It was over 30 minutes of unhinged rambling. He is clearly rattled by the conviction, despite his allies claiming this is a good thing for his re-election campaign.

#Factcheck: Donald Trump in his press conference says "..the Congo has just released a lot of prisoners from their prisons, a lot of people and brought them here.." (meaning the US)??!! He made the allegations before here, & It's NOT TRUE. 100% FALSE:

He spits 'Biden' like it's distasteful but I think this may be the first time I've heard Trump admit Biden is POTUS. The man had to become a felon before he conceded he lost the election.

"But he's nevertheless the President, so we have to use his name."

It seems Trump was concerned about perjuring himself.

In his rambling press conference, he says he would have loved to testify at trial but didn't because "they'll get you on something you said slightly wrong and then they'll sue you for perjury."

So you find all of that anti-American but not the Kangaroo Court and Trial?  GTFO, Tim.

The NY DA met with Biden 20 times prior to the trial and had to make up felony charges in order to "get him".

The only anti-Americans in here is everyone on your side of the aisle who thinks this was legit.  Biden went after his political opponent like a dictator does - the same "dictator" you want to accuse Trump of being.

Truth. 💥

Everything Trump is saying right now can be taken into consideration at sentencing. Judges typically weigh whether the defendant has shown remorse. Judge Merchan, who Trump just called "a devil," certainly isn't seeing any remorse from this defendant.

Why would he be remorseful?  Oh my gawd, his accountant called a payment to a lawyer 'legal expenses'!   Lock him up!

Ironically, you morons think it is Trump who is unhinged.  He actually gave a pretty good speech, although I bet his obvious references to Cohen will get him in trouble with the illegal gag order.

Allow me to translate:

"I wanted to testify but my lawyers told me to STFU because I'm incapable of not lying while opening my mouth. I sure wish I had listened to them during the trial, as I might have won if I hadn't demanded that they defend me like I defend myself- constant attack, denial, and projection. This was not an easy case for the prosecution but I'm so focking dumb they dunked on me."

Not so.  The judge made it clearnif Trump testify that would open the door for the prosecution to bring up every piece of dirt Trump was ever accused of.  The judge effectively forced Trump to not testify.

If a person goes on the stand and says something stupid that opens a door then yes the prosecution can use that. Up until that point they are only able to fire lines of questioning involved in the specific charges that are being levied.

Trump forced himself to not testify either willingly, or through his lawyers who knew that Trump would open himself up to all kinds of things.

Seriously, like they've been in the news for months.

THE GRAND JURY OF THE COUNTY OF NEW YORK, by this indictment, accuses the defendant of the crime of FALSIFYING BUSINESS RECORDS IN THE FIRST DEGREE, in violation of Penal Law §175.10, committed as follows:

The defendant, in the County of New York and elsewhere, on or about February 14, 2017, with intent to defraud and intent to commit another crime and aid and conceal the commission thereof, made and caused a false entry in the business records of an enterprise, to wit, an entry in the Detail General Ledger for the Donald J. Trump Revocable Trust, bearing voucher number 842457, and kept and maintained by the Trump Organization.

No, it was not based on what Trump said.   The judge made it clear if Trump testified the door was open for everything, regardless of what he said

Exactly.

They've been mentioned and written about for months. While the charges were being issued yesterday the good news anchors were saying "On the charge of-------he is guilty..."

Like you have to be willingly avoiding the news to not know

You didn't read and/or understand what I wrote.

You also clearly don't know how court cases work. I'd suggest maybe doing some basic reading...or in light of that- at least watch a few Law & Order episodes to get the gist.

Remember when Trump said this?

“She shouldn’t be allowed to run...If she wins, it would create an unprecedented constitutional crisis. In that situation, we could very well have a sitting president under felony indictment and, ultimately, a criminal trial. It would grind government to a halt.”

Pepperidge Farms remembers.

I'm guess you are asking me and the answer is no.  He was not charged with "Conspiracy to promote or prevent election" nor did he need to be for the falsification records charges to be bumped to a felony.  If the records were falsified in the 'effort to commit a different' crime, the falsification charge is bumped to a felony.  Regardless if he succeeded or not in a 2nd crime, or is even charged with it.

It seems that is still quite a bit of confusion about how this works.

And I never said he was...you are welcome.  I posted the "Conspiracy to promote or prevent election" only to show what other crime he may have attempted to commit when he falsified his business records(as someone keeps asking to see).

Tht still does not address what the crime was.  According to the judge...

"Under our law, a person is guilty of such a conspiracy when, with intent that conduct be performed that would promote or prevent the election of a person to public office by unlawful means, he or she agrees with one or more persons to engage in or cause the performance of such conduct," he said.

Prosecutors offered three theories about the unlawful means -- a tax crime, falsification of bank records or campaign finance violations. According to Merchan, the jury does not need to agree which of the three unlawful means was employed to convict the former president.

--------

Blanketly calling out generic offenses does not define a crime.  What the fock does a tax crime mean?  The tax code is a focking million pages, what was the tax violation or campaign violations.   If the IRS brought you to trial and said you committed a tax violation, it is impossible to defend without some spefic action that violates a specific part of the tax code.  It is total BS.

Almost anyone but Biden would crush Trump.  But Biden is perhaps the worst candidate of all time this go-round.

He no longer appeals to the groups he needs to appeal to, he completely botched the messaging of Trumpflation, and he looks ready to keel over at any time.

I still think Trump will win because his voters will come out and Biden's won't in the numbers he needs.

Wouldnt it be weird tho?  Biden got most votes ever.  Since... you have the little 1/6 thing.  You have this.  Supposedly the economy is great.

How could Biden lose?   He already beat Trump and had most votes ever before the stuff above.
