Can Kamala win? I give her better odds than Biden....but I don't see it as a landslide. Head to head against Trump: Biden +200 Kamala +160 With a healthy vig. It's really not that close. The Real timschochet 6,431 Posted July 18, 2024 I predict Trump will give a unifying speech tonight and barely mention Biden. It will be total bullsh!t and after it’s over the MAGA folks will gush here and elsewhere and say “he won the election! It’s over!” But it isn’t. And within a few weeks Trump will return to his “retribution” self. But just watch: the adulation tonight for this felon will be truly sickening.

I think tonight he talks about how dramatic the shooting was, how strong he is for surviving, how he's gonna keep fighting for all of us against the deep state, and repeat a bunch of the same lies he always does (Ecuador emptying prisons, he had best economy in the world, etc)

thegeneral 2,913 Posted July 18, 2024 Dropping out after the RNC always made sense. From an optics and managing the message stand point. Take all the wind out of that and everything now shifts to the Dems and managing this. It would be very cool to watch if they could have a brokered convention from the drama side but it seems that won’t happen. Have heard some pros talk about how it work out conceivably and they described it as full of landmines and not so good. That coupled with Kamala having the access to the Biden Campaign cash and the optics of bypassing her make it seem very likely she is the one.

The poor man looked like he was going to collapse getting off the plane when he returned from Vegas. Yes I want Trump to win, and yes I think Harris would be slightly more likely to win than Biden, but I think they should let the man retire. He's not capable and clearly in steep decline. I also am not fully invested in these Harris polls holding as close, imagined nominees and candidates tend to do better than when they are all of a sudden in a race. I do think she is slightly more likely to win. If somehow they get to a Shapiro type candidate, that's the best odds for the D's. But Shapiro would start at such a disadvantage from money and name recognition, I think he's better to wait than to fight this uphill fight.

It is him, and I think his wife is pushing him towards staying. That's just an opinion. But I agree they can't move past Kamala Harris. The share D's are polling with the black vote is too low for them to win right now. They can't pass Harris up given how loyal black women are to the party and needing to improve their overall demographic numbers.

IGotWorms 4,057 Posted July 18, 2024 I’d be pretty surprised if Biden didn’t endorse Harris. I guess there could be some thinking that it’d be a better look to have an open process.
