This is what appears to be happening. Joe is being stubborn about this which is normally an admirable trait (even now I can really respect him for it) but he’s leading us to defeat, I fear. His Political campaign people do their own polling, modeling, etc. If they thought he couldn't win he would bow out. So obviously he can still win the presidency for a second term despite your opinion, and the opinion of George Clooney, some rich donors, and some Democratic leaders (congressmen and governors). Oh I’m not saying he can’t win. Of course he can and I hope it happens. But I don’t see how any reasonable person can think the odds are currently in his favor. I get what you’re saying and I’m sure there’s validity to it. But the NYTimes had a pretty good write up on this the other day. Basically Biden is banking hard on the idea that the public polls we see are simply wrong. And certainly that’s possible, but typically they aren’t that wrong, and since 2016, when they have been wrong, it was in underestimating Trump’s support. So it seems like a pretty huge gamble

Engorgeous George 2,251 Posted July 13, 2024 He survives, for now, on life support. He will fall again, and soon, by him misspeaking, by a challenging set of staris, by national or international events which occur regularly. Several hurricanes are coming. Dozens of Illegals will rape and kill in the next month. Ports and or trade routes will be closed and oil will go up. Houties and their blowfish will drone attack and this time sink one of our military ships. Project Veritas will pay some comely young lass to entice Hunter with promises of sex and will give him an ounce of pure columbian and we will have more photos of him in tighty whities with a crack pipe hanging from his mouth. Fairly or unfairly folks will blame Biden and his negatives will rise.

The Real timschochet 6,552 Posted July 16, 2024 Way too many liberals I know are depressed. Snap out of it! We haven’t lost this election yet. And even if we do lose, Trump will screw things up so badly we’ll reverse it all in a couple of years. America is a liberal country, a woke country and that’s not going to change because a few idiots and backwards lookers have the upper hand for the moment. No need to be down, it will all work out. 2

It was the power hungry democrats who created the court we have today? How was it power hungry that she didn't retired in 2015 or early 2016? Would McConnell have let Barrack fill that nomination? Cause it seems to me it was the GOP who started making up precedents when it comes to SCOTUS nominations.

The Supreme Court can only move so far away from the general will of the public. When the public gets too pissed off about a decision (for example, Dred Scott or Dobbs) the reaction eventually destroys the power of the decision. Within 10 years of the Dred Scott decision there was no slavery in the USA. Within 20 years of Dobbs, abortion will be more accessible, I predict, than it was during the Roe years. That's ONE big decision. There are a bunch of less known decisions that are a lot more nuanced than Abortion Yes/No, that the general public isn't as educated about. They have heard of the immunity decision, but other than..."oh that means Trump can't be tried in court" is about as far as most think, but it's so much more far reaching and has no basis in the constitution or really the countries ideals. The striking down of Chevron. The removal of a statute of limitations on federal regulations. Absurd record on the 2nd amendment. Voting rights. Sorry, I disagree vehemently about how far the Supreme Court can move the lines as they have shown time and time again since they 6-3 super majority. It's amazing how wrong all the previous courts have been and the 6 Super Justices are the only ones who really understand the Constitution and the Laws...or maybe it's they are full of sh!t. But it's going to be a lot longer than 10 years before things get back to normal.
