DO we stand arm in arm on this??

My position is that the Donald Trump, more than any other politician before him in all of our history, had encouraged political violence and that this has led to all kinds of of problems in our society and could get worse, and that there is nothing close to this in terms of rhetoric on the other side. Is that your position as well?

Your position is pointedly untrue, unless.....you are willing to accept that Democrats encouraged  violence which resulted in cities burning and an assassination attempt.  Now I highly doubt that is true, so please....for the love of God....stop pretending Trump is some source of violence, it makes you seem silly.

If however, you are asserting that violence is wrong and should not happen, well then we can be in lock step.

I agree with you.  I don't think Trump "wants violence".  Just as much as I don't think "Democrats are responsible for the horrible violence in cities" those people we're just thugs and idiots who have probably never voted a day in their life.

Trump is simply a useful idiot, who's light bulb went off and realized "I can gain money and fame by using people who are slightly dumber than me by telling them what they want to hear".  That's all he cares about.   And a bunch of idiots listened.

Useful idiot is a stretch given the spread of people who have challenged or opposed him over the past....and it would seem that this notion of useful idiot might tend to refute the other thing liberals love to do....call him some dictator or some nonsense.

I think the useful idiot moniker is likely better suited to Biden, and once they were done with him, once his usefulness was gone, they dumped him.  THAT is how a "useful idiot" would look

Biden became a puppet, true.  Trump is just a slightly less used puppet, he's just more of a Krusty the Clown puppet set to Evil mode by accident kind of puppet..   Can we all just get some Frogurt? Or a Taco Stand on every corner like we were promised? Or do I have to use my monkey paw to make two wishes.. Ugh

I live in Minneapolis proper.   It is a wonderful city to live in and I have no qualms about raising my two young children here.  Top notch entertainment and venues, plenty of different industries and places to work, my kids will get some of the best education in the country, and we have awesome outdoor things to experience.

That said, Walz is a complete jackass who will not be getting my vote.  He drug he feet during the riots, he pissed away our 5b budget surplus by offering tax rebates (that he then sliced in third), and is in bed with the Tribes.

He takes for granted the fact that he gets to put 'DFL' next to his name on the ballot, because he knows all of the limousine liberals in this state will always vote for the party.  Those liberals in MN who say the George Floyd death was the most tragic thing to ever happen to them, but wouldn't dare walk around George Floyd Square, or have never ventured into North Minneapolis, and always avoid going down the checkout isle at Target where the Somali girl is working.  Minnesota Passive-Aggressive racism at it's finest.

The ONLY thing worth a damn that he has passed has been the free school lunch program.

:(

Walz's attorney, Russell Harford, told the court that Walz had been drinking and had driven away from the state trooper because he "thought somebody was chasing him."

Again, calling Trump a puppet just does not add up given all the information being spread.....   now if you were to suggest he was tilted toward more authoritarianism I could see you making an argument, not that I would agree....but that would be the thing, not to pretend he is some kind of puppet or something.   That makes no sense given the wealth of info we have on him.

Now if you made that assertion about Biden, it would make more sense.

So he bailed on his unit where he was the senior enlisted man just before they were deployed into a combat zone, and was restored to his former lower rank as a result.  Liberals are bragging about his status as a vet.  No service is better than chickenshit service. Someone else had to go.

I like the Walz pick. His genuine plain spoken approach will contrast very well with that fake, JD Vance

when i call Trump a puppet i mostly mean the GOP (doesn't like him) but is using him and he doesn't know it.  Or maybe he does, and he's just a good boy waiting for his treats.  Or maybe he is taking over the GOP like a authoritarian.  I'm not sure which is scarier.

That seems to be incongruent with the depiction put forward by the White House and their mouthpieces in the media.... I mean, just look at how they talked about the border bill.  Their claim was that Trump was pulling the levers behind the scenes to control the Republicans, and yet you seem to think they are incorrect.

Walz has alot of snowflakes on TILT in here.  Must be a good pick if MAGA is whining so bad about it.

As certainly as the left would try to beautify the pick the right was going to demonize it.  Predictable politics.  The fact is thorwing stones is among our favorite activities as humans and we do so regardless of the sins on our own hands.  Me, I still believe there to be remnants of blood on my hands no matter how much I wash them.

Trump realized what P.T. Barnum (and no Donald the P.T. does not stand for poon tang) allegedly noted over a century ago, that there is a sucker born every minute and he decided to horn in onthe action.

This is like the Walter Mondale / Geraldine Ferraro ticket reversed. Hoping Harris / Walz get trounced too.

Imagine if all the money donated on both sides had instead been donated to charities.  We would have less hungry, less homeless, and medical research vastly forwarded.  We might have cleaned up some stream and restored much habitat.  Instead we have filled the airwaves which toxicity, angering our friends and neighbors, driving a wedge between us.

Walz isn’t the total flop that JD Vance was but the pick is sort of meh.

I like him (and I’m typically biased against boring midwesterners), but it’s also true that Kamala could not pick someone that might outshine her. It is not a good look when the bottom half of the ticket is better or more exciting.

Plus she’s trying to become the first woman to be president and she’s black (or is she??! 😂).

So yeah, all of that adds up to old white guy from Minnesota. But he’s still got a good, plain spoken demeanor that could appeal to some folks wary of a biracial California liberal.

I really think there was some debate about potentially burning Shapiro and potentially giving up that office in PA.

Too bad her husband was so quick to bring the Nationall Guard in the destroy these “touchstone” moments.  This is exactly what the ticket needed to reach the centrists.

Thats all well and good. But hard to say that when Harris herself was promoting funding to bail out people arrested during these destructive riots.  The Dems certainly looked the other way, a few down right endorsed it.

You can say what you want about J6.  But these riots were normalized to a degree for people who were unhappy with things.  Starting with the Dem Floyd riots.

It is fairly logical to assume J6 doesnt happen if the Biden riots of 2020 never happened.  One lasted a half a day the others lasted months.   Hell when Trump was being sworn in, DC had fires all over and vandalism.
