Why is American food so much worse than European?

A big reason is because Europe and Canada already caved. Their citizens have given up their guns, and they are much easier to control. They trust their government at a much higher rate. There's no need to poison them as much right now. That can happen later.

Americans are more rebellious by nature, and we have guns. They need to drop mens testosterone and weaken our bodies to make it easier when bringing the US in line with global policy. Our leaders are happy to help accomplish this.

Trying to make food cheaper plays a part as well, but it's not the main reason.

When I was in Amsterdam (loved it by the way) my brother in law (picky eater) ordered pancakes with ham.  It came out as like super raw ham  mixed into weird pancake dough.  Even I was like WTF is this?   Also, in London, they serve beer Cask Style, room temperature with a foot pump.  Also weird.   So there is good places to eat and bad places to eat in both.  Belgian Waffles, in Brussels, also overrated. Fish and Chips in London, equivalent to CA.  The only "rude French people" I ever met in Paris were at a McDonalds.  But they did have Gelato at the McDonald's in Rome.

One reason is that Americans are much busier and do not make many meals with fresh ingredients.  We need food that can last a while before we're able to make it.  Our country also allows food to be made the way it is here.

I went to Colombia for about a week and ate 3 full meals a day. I thought I was eating a like a pig. Not only did I eat more than usual, we sat at restaurants for what seemed like forever. I ate foods I'd never eat at home for fear of gaining weight. Also, we had multiple courses!

You need to read about it, the food here is created differently. 
It's a slew of things. 

Once, I had some expired Thomas' Bagels. I was surprised to note that although the 3 bagels in the bag were past their fresh date, they looked and felt perfectly fine. I wondered how long it would be before they molded. Guess what? THEY NEVER MOLDED!!! Grapes and tomatoes aren't molding and dying anymore. Just look, try to let them rot. They won't.

This. 

The preservatives that we use because we are so busy, plus we have to drive everywhere to get food. Mass production of food products that NEED to last a while.

European cities have a TON of smaller grocery stores, bakeries, etc that you can WALK to. When I was in Germany we walked every morning to the small bakery to get fresh bread. The only time we had to really drive was to go to their grocery store, and even then the food we bought (veggies, cheese, meat) had to be eaten within days because there are no preservatives. 

Europeans also have shorter work hours, close every day for lunch, closed on Sundays. America cannot do that without repercussions.

Trump is the last person I’d listen to about health tips or trust to regulate the food industry. RFK works out and is mainlining HGH but dude also harvests and eats roadkill, BBQ dogs, and developed a brain worm so he’s suspect too.

I don't trust anyone, haven't since I started doing research on Monsanto

they worked with the govt to produce the food pyramid we all grew up knowing, tons of bread and carbs and garbage

Anything is “poison” at a high enough dosage.  I suspect that is the case with tartrazine.  I’m no nutritionist but while I agree those food items are not healthy obviously, tartrazine is probably low on the list of reasons why.  Tons of added sugars, trans fats, etc are likely worse.
