Strike 5,182 Posted Friday at 02:08 PM I would consider one under certain circumstances. I've upgraded the sound system in most vehicles I've owned so not paying for a factory sound system is actually a bonus. I can use that money towards what I really want. The article doesn't say if the vehicle has A/C, and that's a requirement for me at this point in my life. Other than that, I'd check one out possibly, especially a younger version of myself. I don't think there's AC, or cruise control. I'm digging this thing and how customizable it is. Thinking it would be a great commuter vehicle. I do wonder how long it would last, though. I usually buy a vehicle and keep it for at least ten years. I'm allergic to car payments.
SaintsInDome2006 374 Posted Friday at 02:35 PM I have thought for a long time someone should make a gas powered vehicle like this but here it is as an EV. Awesome idea. It’s basically the Ford Model A concept. This could be huge.
TheNewGirl 1,339 Posted Friday at 03:05 PM The Bronco-type version in the pic is kind of cool, I'd consider one of those. It would be great for someone who just needed to commute and had another care they really "liked" for longer trips or whatever.
cmh6476 1,009 Posted Friday at 03:26 PM We bought a backup at work for food deliveries and it was around $60k. Give me something with reliability for distance traveling (6 hour drive time), hauling capacity to load a full pallet of product and reasonable cost and I'm in. thegeneral 2,880 Posted Friday at 06:19 PM EV is a good idea for this space IMO. Less stuff to maintain than ICE car. Cheaper 2nd car for a household, having a truck is nice as well. Probably does look pretty janky in person I bet for this price but as a utilitarian vehicle I would def take a look and can see the market for it.

Engorgeous George 2,117 Posted Friday at 08:30 PM I think there is a place for a vehicle or two that do not load themselves down with needless expense. It did not hurt me to roll down my own windows on my first few cars and trucks. I got by just fine without a touch screen, back up cameras, car alarms, parking assist, seat warmers blue tooth and all the other crap which boosts the costs of cars to ridiculous levels. I sometimes wonder what it would cost to reproduce a Chevy Chevette or a Honda CVCC with the base features they had in the 70's but with today's tech as far as feul injection. Those things would get 50 mpg and be reasonable to insure and to repair. Imagine the diesal Rabbits of the 70's reproduced now. I bet those things would get 65mpg. WhiteWonder 2,674 Posted Friday at 09:53 PM First thought… looks better than most new model vehicles out there in terms of shape and style second thought… once you’re done customizing it, including having it wrapped, what’s the actual cost? How does it compare to a more trusted pre owned vehicle in terms of price? Apologies if this was explained in the article. I gave up halfway through.
