Jake Tapper admits he didn't cover Biden's cognitive decline enough, claims to 'look back on it with humility'

CNN anchor Jake Tapper is now admitting he didn't provide enough coverage of former President Joe Biden's cognitive decline as his reporting during the previous administration draws scrutiny from critics. 

Tapper appeared on his network Wednesday morning while promoting his new book, "Original Sin: President Biden's Decline, Its Cover-Up, and His Disastrous Choice to Run Again," set to be released next week. He was asked what he made of his conservative critics who've been speaking out against him and the rest of the media over their lack of coverage exposing Biden's mental acuity while he was in office. 

"I think some of the criticism is fair, to be honest, of me," Tapper responded. "Certainly I'm not going to speak for anybody else, but knowing then what I know now, I look back at my coverage during the Biden years and I did cover some of these issues, but not enough. I look back on it with humility."

I would think the only true regret or remorse is in the fact that, knowing what they know now, he didn't do more to help push Joe out the door sooner so the democratic party could have had enough time to hold a primary and have anyone but Kamala take on Trump.

Before she left the board, @OldMaid, who I always got along with (and I don't really have anything against her) made a comment that I will never forget. She basically said republicans were to blame for Biden staying in the race as long as he did because they knew he was declining and they saw it as Trumps best chance to win so they wanted Biden to keep running.

I voted AGAINST Trump in 2020 and 2024, and I've made it clear that I would have voted for a cinder block over Trump. Hell, I would have voted for Peefoam over Trump.

Americans having deep belief in things that run contrary to their own eyes isn't exactly novel.

Was MSM complicit in "keeping the secret?" Yes, but I doubt to the extent many of you want to believe. I blame the party, the Biden family, and Joe's advisors, in that order. For many reasons I've never registered as a Democrat and this fiasco completely validated that choice. Wish I felt better about being validated.

I watch almost no news, I read it. I knew Biden's faculties were diminishing without having it shown to me. I didn't want him to run in 24, but it didn't matter who the D's nominated. I voted against Trump, like @Tebok. I said I'd have happily voted for a Walz/Vance ticket over what our options were right here in the GC VP debate thread.

I was saying for MONTHS that Biden has obvious dementia and cognitive decline. Because I was watching it with my own mother and the mannerisms were EXACTLY the same.
