I'm not denying anything.  But you have a history of either making sh*t up, posting it out of context, or mischaracterizing it.  You said it was a poll.  I've been pretty clear on what I think about polls so it's possible I posted a poll to fock with you or in jest.  Without seeing the post and the context I have no idea in what manner you're misrepresenting it.  I highly doubt I actually suggested I know what Californians want or think as a whole.  I left CA because of the direction their thought processes were heading.

districts should exist. Counties of 750k would get a rep.  If a county has less than 750k then they would merge with another county. Each county would send a rep and there would be a vote. If a county has more than 2 million they get an additional rep. There are 3000 counties nationwide. This would be the most fair and sensible path and these fake color lines wouldn’t need to be drawn

I think the only thing you can take from the results last night is that there is a lot of palpable anger out there directed at Trump and his policies right now. Things are not better economically and with a government shut down and stuff being taken off the table you can see that up and down the ballot- statewide to local elections to school boards there was a push to the left or to remove Republicans all together.

I don't think in politics anymore we can extrapolate anything further beyond that as every election cycle has its own beat and rhythm.

You and others continue to miss the point. 

Politics have changed. We, the Democrats, along with like minded independents and even some conservatives, regard Donald Trump as a serious existential threat to American freedoms in real time. That is no joke. The ONLY way to fight him and MAGA is to elect Democrats everywhere. We can’t wait for perfect candidates. We can’t elect moderate Republicans, even “Never Trumpers”. This is why even Bill Kristol said that if he was in New York he would have voted for Mamdani. It’s all hands on deck until this current threat has been defeated. 

Once Trump and the MAGA movement are gone we can hopefully get back to normal. Personally I would love to vote for some sane Republicans again; I prefer more capitalism and less government control. But right now I can’t.

Hell, in California there weren’t even any politicians on the ballot! Perhaps most significantly, nobody predicted the amount of Latinos who had voted for Trump in 2024 now voting for Democrats. I hoped it would happen but even I am surprised by the numbers. The whole movement of Latinos to the Republican Party over the last several years has been completely destroyed. I think we all know why.

I did here in a couple threads, saying that Latinos voted for Trump naively believed his promise that he would bring down grocery prices and only deport the undocumented who were the worst criminals (murderers and rapists).

Instead they have seen prices continue to rise while seeing neighbors, co-workers and family members being rounded up by ICE and subject to deportation. The GOP has lost all the recent gains they have made with Latino voters (and it will only get worse in 2026).
