Haven't done that in years. If I were to do so now, I'd pick "Christmas Eve/Sarajevo 12/24" by Trans-Siberian Orchestra. HTH

Welcome to the club. Its a jeep thing!

Actually I have a 10 disc changer in my Grand, but the best sound is the tires roaring down the road.

make sure the various speakers are working/test surround sound.

I hate this song, but an "expert" once told me it was the best to hear bass/treb/mid....and make sure you are "clean"...Mr. Roboto. After several purchases, I would have to agree.

Life's Been Good (to me so far. My Maserati does one-eighty-five. I lost my license and now I don't drive.) Joe Walsh. The intro is kick-ass.

Shook Me All Night Long AC/DC

:dunno: another excellent choice

No brainer...Welcome to the Jungle :dunno:

:dunno:

I also play Metallica's "Turn The Page", cause it will really show the flaws in a system with the vocals&guitar

Not so much a song but that THX intro. That's always good for a test of the systems range and richness of sound.

For movies for home surround system, the DDay scene in Shaving Ryan's Privates is still hard to beat. For music, La Mer from the live NIN dvd will give your sub/subs a very hard workout.

Exactly. It's not about songs that rock, it's about songs that have good clean riffs in them. I remember testing with Tough Enough by the Fabulous Thunderbirds in the past.

Duran Duran "Rio"

It has that kickass Chic/disco bass line and the appregiator effect on the synth maxes out the mids & highs.

There is no such thing as a factory "system". HTH

also, try this for testing. All classical, but a good barometer to judge where / how you might want to make some upgrades in your system. :ninja:
