Zach Johnson just HAD to play the jesus card, didn't he?

"jesus was with me every step of the way, I felt him"

Where was he at last years Masters? helping Nippleson to victory?

Did anyone else know what a big fan of golf jesus was?

He is in good company. Billy Donovan and Tony Dungy said variations of the same thing.

If he thanked Muhammad you probably would not have posted the thread, but the mention of JC seems to get ones undies in a bunch.

Happy Easter.

I guess jesus can be everywhere and anywhere. Wherever it's convenient when the religous zombies need him.

Hence the word omnipotent.

If he has a relationship with Jesus then Jesus is with him 24/7 no matter what the guy is doing. Acknowledging that fact on the most important date to Christianity doesn't seem out of line. It's not like he said Jesus was making his putts for him.

See and I always thought this word referred to a man's ability to get it up again just a few minutes after release. I was omnipotent once.......

He wasn't "pulling a card". It wasn't like it was a prepared comment. The guy was on cloud nine....he was just being honest about his relationship with his Savior.

I don't believe God is too interested in who wins or loses these things unless it serves His purposes. What He does promise is peace and strength to those who ask for it who have a solid relationship with him.

I think we did this whole topic before, didn't we? After the Colts won the Super Bowl.........

That would be interesting. I hope Shareef Abur Rahim wins the NBA finals MVP and says, "Thanks be to Allah, He was with me the whole time. Now let's stone the cheerleaders to death"

Don't criti-cize it, legal-ize it.

People who get all pissy about religion are usually afraid that they are making the wrong choice in life or don't understand the wonderful benefits religion brings to society. I'm not religious at all, but I love the fact that religion exists. It serves to strengthen the moral fiber of society. It provides hope to the masses. It's pretty handy to have around.

Did Johnson thank Jesus for helping make his putts?

I gotta laugh at how threatened some on this bored are when someone simply expresses his faith in Jesus.

Jeesus most certainly knocked down Tiger's approach on the 2nd par 5 15 coming down the stretch. Did you see Tiger's face. It said...'WTF? That ball was going right for the hole".

I hope Jesus wasn't the one that gave Johnson his fat wife. :shocking: A Master's champion deserves something a little more eye appealing.

:shocking: There are just more believers than non-believers. Majority rules folks. Some of you atheiests need to get less uptight about Christians, it will raise your blood-pressure to unhealthy levels. Plus look at it this way, you've got all of eternity in damnated HE LL to worry about Jesus so why bother now.

Yeah, there would definitely be no war if there was no religion.

Man, Jesus gets all the best seats. Walks the course with Johnson at the Masters, strolls the sidelines with Dungy during the SB. I want to know his ticket broker dammit!

he clearly had to marry before his golf success... either that or with a taste of the good life mrs. johnson let herself go.

It seems like guys are pissed that he won now that he thanks jesus...

would you rather have an a-hole like singh win it??? or a d0uchey foreigner like rose...

johnson seems like a very nice down to earth guy... good things happen to good people

(also... how tall is this guy??? phil seemed to tower over him at the jacket ceremony)

Geez guys - she just had a baby 10 weeks ago. Not sure about your wives, but typically they usually don't bounce back to pre-pregnancy form for a few weeks or months.

who cares what he said. He's a nice guy from Iowa who beat Tiger Woods - good for him. Hell of a round he shot - all that pressure and he stepped up his game and won.

So STFU and appreciate it and who gives a flying fock if you personally disagree with his faith. I say each to his own.

'zactly.

Zach was asked how he was able to stay calm coming down the back nine.

He replies "Jesus gave me the strength...

Idiotic to take his comments and imply that Jesus cared who won or lost.

I was thrilled for Johnson when he won. out of everyone in contention, after Woods I wanted Johnson to win. Then I'm getting all teary eyed because he was holding back his tears he was so happy he won and then he throws Jesus in my face? Fock him

I'm pretty sure it's against PGA rules to have anyone other than your caddy accompany you during play. They should have taken away his jacket.

What if he had said I felt my dead grandfather's presence with me on the back nine. Would you have cared about that? If not, why do you care about this? It wasn't a speech. He responded to a question with an honest answer.

And parting the rough should count as improving your lie.

That should be a stroke penalty.

the guy just took down tiger woods and won the masters - get over it. i'd much rather see this than a nba/nfl wr type who stands in front of a mike grabbing their johnson saying, "know-what-i'm-sayin, know-what-i'm-sayin, know-what-i'm-sayin."
