PATSSOX 22 Posted January 14, 2011 Alright boys and some girls there has been plenty of smack talk from Jets. Do they back it up on Sunday or do the Patriots shut them up? I like the odds from the Accuscore simulation on ESPN Only people on ESPN that picked the Jets to win were Ron Jaworski and the former Jets coach Herm Edwards from ESPN.com * AccuScore simulations: Patriots 29, Jets 19 (on average). Patriots win 78 percent of more than 10,000 simulations. ESPN's Patriots-Jets prediction roundup Patriots-28 Jets-
redtodd 7 Posted January 14, 2011 Patriots win a close one. I really want to believe the Patriots will beat the hell out of them, but I fear they will not. I hope it is cold and windy out for Sanchez.

Matt Mueller 146 Posted January 14, 2011 31-17 was the score that just popped into my mind. (I picked the pats) If the Jets somehow pull this one off I'm calling: 27-
ICEMAN 41 Posted January 14, 2011 Pats - 38 Jets - 24 And I don't think that it is as close as that score would indicate. I think that this thing is long over by end of the 3rd quarter (31-10 by the end of 3) and the Pats just go into prevent mode. The only thing that I can see changing the trajectory of this game significantly enough for the Jets to win is either Brady going down, or Vince Wilfork going down. If either of those guys were to go down, the Jets could win. Brady is the best in the business (and really the biggest thing that separates the Pats from the Jets) and the Pat's biggest weakness right now is how razor thin they are on the Defensive Line. If Wilfork were to go down, I'd give the Jets a 50/50 chance at winning. ICEMAN

PATSSOX 22 Posted January 15, 2011 26-24 jets on a last second FG You must be the one person who voted for JETS Jets fans better hope it does not come down to a FG. I bet they were even a little nervous last week when he had the 2 yard FG attempt to win game. Sanchez has thown 1 TD to 7 INTs in his career in Foxboro so lets hope that trend continues. But i also saw i think Brady has 3 TDs to 3 INTs his last 3 playoff games so thats not very good either.

Thornton Melon 616 Posted January 15, 2011 Pats 27-17, but it will be close, with the Pats scoring a late TD or FG to seal it.
RoadLizard 73 Posted January 15, 2011 I predict the game will be over by the 2nd quarter and most people will be doing something else by then. Lotta hype for what amounts to a gauranteed blowout. Bleh.
kmbryant09 1 Posted January 15, 2011 I don't think this one's gonna be close. Patriots stack the box and shut down the run. Sanchez commits 2 turnovers while playing from behind, can't muster more than 13-17 points. The Patriots may stall in the red zone once or twice, but I think they move the ball very consistently. 31-13 Patriots

Matt Mueller 146 Posted January 15, 2011 Jets are the packers of the afc, teams that blew their loads last week and just aren't that good I understand the Jets but why don't you think the Packers are that good? Top D, Top QB, Top WRs. Only think holding them back is a mediocre O line and running game.
IGotWorms 4,057 Posted January 15, 2011 Doesn't "big kick" Shayne Graham boot 'em in New England these days? I'm mildly terrified that a Pats playoff game will come down to Shayne Graham kicking a field goal. The dude has been good enough filling in for Gostkowsi, but I think he is a ticking time bomb waiting to explode the Patriots' super bowl hopes.

Matt Mueller 146 Posted January 15, 2011 I wouldn't be surprised one bit if the Pack beat Atl. No one should be. I mean the spread is only 2 so that means on a neutral field the odds makers think Green Bay is the better squad.

WhiteWonder 2,685 Posted January 16, 2011 I predict the game will be over by the 2nd quarter and most people will be doing something else by then. Lotta hype for what amounts to a gauranteed blowout. Bleh. why is it a "gauranteed blowout"? Are you putting all the weight on the very last meeting between the teams? In the two years of Rex and Sanchez, the Jets are 2-2. Winning both at home and losing both in New England. Granted the game is in New England again but lets not ignore the fact that this is probably the most bitter rivalry in football right now and as much as people love to hate the Jets, they are a pretty good team. I have a hard time believing a good coach like Ryan will not have his team better prepared this time. I think the Pats will win but i truely do expect a close game. TD Ryan2 316 Posted January 16, 2011 I think the Pats will win but i truely do expect a close game. IMO, a "close game" is what the Jets need here. The Pats could blow out the Jets... the Jets won't blow out the Pats. It just comes down to the firepower of the offenses and the Jets aren't there yet. Tough D, run the ball, and a Special Teams (or Wildcat/trick) score would do the trick for the Jets. The Jets Special Teams may be better than NEs so it's a matchup to watch. If NE is giving it up on Special Teams, this will be a tight game. It's the one spot where NYJ can level the playing field a bit.
sorrycharlie 0 Posted January 16, 2011 In the two years of Rex and Sanchez, the Jets are 2-2. Winning both at home and losing both in New England. You guys keep using that...ok...... The 1st game you refer to was Tommys 2nd game back after missing all of 08(except 1 qtr), due to a bad knee injury(see Peyton when he 1st came back after alot lesser surgery), and it was in NY, the Jesters SHOULD have won that game, and they did. Week 2 this year was with a VERY YOUNG and inexperienced Patriot team, and with Moss on the way out, no Woodhead or Branch, Welker getting back into shape..Jesters with their veterans SHOULD have won that game, and they did. Things are quite a bit different now, Woodcock and Branch are 100% into the game plan, the young TES and Crumpler are very much a part of the gameplan, no more forcing it to Moss making it EZ on Dead Beat Dad Cromartie.... the team the Jesters will face is alot closer to week 13 than week2, of course we are gonna find out tomorrow @ 4:30 The Pats are a very young and inexperienced team, this was supposed to be a rebuilding year. TD Ryan2 316 Posted January 16, 2011 I usually pick NE to split the season with the Jets. It's always a tough, divisional game. does the fact that it's a playoff game make a difference? I think so. I think that's where a veteran/playoff coach and QB make a huge difference. The Pats are a very young and inexperienced team, this was supposed to be a rebuilding year. yup. Nobody saw this coming this year. Just making the playoffs looked like it would be an achievement. But now, we expect to win; it's not an easy spot for the fans to be in because anything short of the SB will be a disappointment. A loss to the Jets this weekend would NOT be as bad as the NYG SuperBowl, but it would be pretty bad. Jesters just an FYI, this isn't all that clever or funny... sorry man... just trying to protect you from using it with your "real" friends.

Over the last 2 seasons, the Jets and Pats have split. It is, what it is. All I read after that comment are excuses from your lame, "jesters" ass. You must have impressed all your middle school friends with that incredibly creative nickname.
sorrycharlie 0 Posted January 16, 2011 The Jets are Clowns, they talk alot of sht with nothing to back it up. The last time they won anything, they won it with a loser QB that would be a #3 by today's standards, and is a drunken idiot If you don't like the term Jester, too bad, it fits that team. HTH. FantasyBowl33 0 Posted January 16, 2011 I have a bad feeling about this game. I keep seeing the jets playing their best game of the last two years under Rex. I see trick plays, exotic coverages. Revis playing all over the field maybe some safety, Kitchen sink will be thrown at the Pats. Though after that I still see the Pats pulling it out, but Pat fans will be sweating it out until the very end. Pats win 21-17. Brady throws GW TD with under two minutes to go.
