rallo 136 Posted May 6, 2013 Agreed, that will be where they decide to end the season. the only other spot i could see ending the season on would be the bar fight where arya and the hound kill polliver and the tickler... or slightly after the red wedding when the hound rides down arya and hits her in the back of the head w/ an axe... could they be so cruel to make some people believe that arya is dead for a year? I'm beginning to wonder if the next to the last episode will be the "red wedding" and the last epi will feature what you just said with the very last scene showing Catelyn risen with the Brotherhood. I'm starting to think that's exactly what will happen. In the first two seasons, the big "OH MY GOD" moment came in the second to last episode. Season 1 was when Ned's head falled off; season two was the battle of Blackwater Bay. I think the second to last episode will be the Red Wedding and the finale will be what you two are talking about. I know what's gonna happen to Robb and it's hurting my appreciation of the season. Last season, I found myself rooting for him like crazy; now, I know he's gonna be deadsies in a few episode, so I had no interest in his plans last night. I actually found myself rooting for Edmund Tulley to stick to his guns and refuse to marry the Frey girl.

TD Ryan2 316 Posted May 13, 2013 Another very good episode - borderline great episode. Tywin and Joffrey was my favorite scene - funny how that little sh!at ran to sit on the throne before speaking to Tywin. Tywin conducted himself with his deserved bad assness but still, he must have an inkling of a thought that he can't push too far with the sadistic kid on the throne - it wouldn't surprise me to see Joff get upset and command the 2 gold cloaks to kill anyone in the throne room - even Tywin - and I think Tywin know it. And WHERE ARE THESE UPDATES on Dany coming from? Ser Jorah? Hmmmmm.... I just don't know about this. Dany - wow, she's getting more badass everyday. Her babies are growing quickly too - those things must be 5 to 6 feet long by now? How much damage can they do at this point? How "deployable" are they? Can they alone terrorize a city or does a crossbow take them down? I think there's a chance we may find out this season. And now the "2" advisers are always at her side - is Ser Jorah still reporting to King's Landing? That was the original setup in season 1. His actions made us believe he was loyal to Dany but is he playing both sides of the fence here? Theon - OK, where the fock is this all going? It's not really even part of the story now - it's like a "torture commercial" that interrupts my show every week. I get it. We get it. He's focked and his captor is cruel and evil beyond human comprehension. Credit where it is due though - that's some pretty cruel torture right there - from dream threesome to castration? Ouch. Jamie/Brienne - nice that Jamie has donned the Red &Blue "S" Cape, and he's good/likeable at it - I just don't quite see why he's doing it. This show clearly isn't afraid to kill off anyone; it may have been better and more realistic if Jamie and Brienne were both just killed by the bear. Red Lady - so she told Gendry he's the king's bstrd. But it seems pretty inevitable that Gendry's off to some ritualistic killing that involves his blood and corpse. Jon / Ygritte - gotta' admit, I'm getting tired of all the "couples" angles here - Jon/Ygritte, Robb/WhatsherName (nice ass), Tyrion/Shae, Jamie/Brienne (yes, they're a couple now). But also gotta' admit, I'm not really sure what "side' Jon is on - maybe that's by design, or maybe I'm an idiot. And where are they walking too? Aren't the "Crow Outposts" all along the wall? Where/What are they walking off too see?

nobody 2,687 Posted May 13, 2013 I thought it was a good episdoe for not having much action. Appreciate that they threw in some gratuitous nudity. Seems only right. I'm bored with the Theon angle as well. I'm not sure why we should even care that he's getting his cock sliced off? It would only really make a difference if he was getting out of there alive. He's a dead man. Cutting off appendages doesn't mean shit.

Quickolas1 80 Posted May 14, 2013 And where are they walking too? Aren't the "Crow Outposts" all along the wall? Where/What are they walking off too see? they're circling down to come back up to Castle Black, the headquarters, to avoid being seen. they climbed the wall far away from Castle Black. only 3 of the 20+ castles/outposts on the wall have people in it - far west and east and Castle Black which is in the middle. and they're thinly manned with the host of crows already having gone north of the wall and now scattered. if the wildlings (Jon Snow?) can somehow open the gate at Castle Black to give Mance's forces (in the thousands) a way in, the North is in trouble. TD Ryan2 316 Posted May 20, 2013 Episode 8, "Second Sons" Great. GREAT episode. Thrones is thoroughly entertaining and intelligent every week. Providing the lustful and violent aspects of Spartacus with the intelligence, acting, and great writing of the Sopranos - and doing far better than the Sopranos ever did in keeping up with multiple plot lines. Dany - She's the star of the show now. Her character arc goes something like this: She was hot. Purely eye candy for the show. She was compassionate. What a nice sweet, hot girl. She became a leader. Whoah - she's got some stones. And now she's one hot powerful leader that gains followers thru sheer force, smarts, or her great set of t!ts (as seen this week). Dany is the star of the show now - the one we are all unequivocally rooting for. It's nice to have at least one "good" character who gets to "win" frequently. Which then brings us to... Tyrion -- Last season's star - this season's punching bag. The more desperate and low Tyrion gets, the better maybe - because he is a brilliant tactician and he could make life miserable for all the Lannisters that we hate. Which brings us to... Cersei - There are not words to describe how viscous this woman is. Her comments to Margery, "if you ever call me sister again, I'll have your throat slit" coupled with her history lessons on the "second wealthiest family" show just how ruthless and capable she is. She is Tywin's heir - moreso that Jamie or Tyrion who have both shown some honor and humanity. I have never seen Margery so unhinged. The Tyrrells have their hands full. Which brings us to... Queen of Throns (is that her name?) - she only has a bit scene, but she's terrific identifying the inbred nature of all the Tyrrells and Lannisters if/when all these marriages happen: "you'll be your father's brother in law, and you uncle to your cousin"! Hilarious. In the nomination for "best scene of the week". Which brings us to... Davos - we know we like this guy. He's another purely "good" guy so far and of course is locked in a dungeon. The dialogue between Stannis and Davos is great - Davos is truly Stannis's conscience locked away in a dungeon. Stannis is on the fence - good or bad? - don't know - but with Davos at his side, I could root for him - with Red Lady? not so much. Which brings us to... Gendry/Aria - will they ever grow up and be united? Those are the seeds that have been sowed, but will it ever happen? Kinda glad if/when The Hound gets off Aria's Dead Pool list - I like The Hound. He's the only one that ever really stood up to Joffrey. Which brings us to... The Wedding - usually shows that have a wedding are done, desperate for content and ratings. This was focking great. Joffrey has the cruelty to be a Lannister, but is too dumb and spoiled. We see it every week and b/c he's cruel but not respectable, I do believe he's the one we hate the most. He's earned nothing on his own. Is there any hope, ever, for Sansa? Long ago, she was the little biatch sister, but after all she's been thru, I think she's been cured of that adolescent ailment - but can she ever recover from what she's been through? I recall some story she had/told last season about a princess and a deformed knight (or something) - could that myth play our right here with here and Tyrion? Could they recover together and gain some power? The best marriages do seem to be the ones that weren't exactly the bride's "dream" (see Dany and Drogo). And finally - Sam OK, cool that he's got the secret to blasting White Walkers. I like it. But I'm all creeped out by the fact that the face-tree and crows seemed to be "working" for the White Walkers - is there some tie in how the knights watch became "crows" even though "crows" are the allies of the monsters north of the wall? Maybe I'm reaching. Hey FYI - no new Episode next week (Memorial Day). Thrones will continue after the holiday week. I read that on the internet, so I assume it's true. While I agree Dany is the best one in the show I do wish they did a little more with Snow's character. Which I why I believe Snow and Dany end up ruling together but don't know Moz - pretty big leap to get them together as a couple - romantically or otherwise. To me, seems like it could be Jon, king of the north and Dany Queen of Westeros where they both have an agreeable alliance. But even then, I expect Brandon Stark to take over for Robb soon - Robb is a place holder until a true, great, "supernatural" Stark can rule. We've been made to believe that the threatening forces beyond the wall are far worse than any of the internal royal squabbles of Kings Landing and all the realm. I can not imagine all these ass wholes having to join in a common cause against a common enemy.
