I highly reccomend marvels Daredevil show on netflix

Recommended Posts

This show was excellent. Finally they did a marvel show right. Its dark, gritty and Vincent D onofrios Kingpin was an instant classic performance. You dont need to know the character beforehand to get into it.

Been passing it over for the last few days.

The only reason I think I would watch it is because of the TV-MA rating it has.

Mebbe I'll give it chance, now.

Gave it a big thumbs up in the GOT thread.

Excellent show. One of the very best projects under the Marvel umbrella.

That's because you have large thumbs. Doubt they are opposable, but hey, you were correct on LOST for me.

Still curious about the TV-MA rating, tho. Do they show any titties?

After looking at the shows under the Marvel umbrella (as Philly said), I see a shitload of them that I really liked.

Iron Man (obviously)

The Punisher was incredible  GREAT casting

Every X-Men movie (Also great casting)

Spider Man 1 and 2 were good (haven't seen the others)

The Avengers kicked ass

Thor annoyed me the first time I saw it, but now it's one of my must watch every time it's on

Captain America annoyed me also the first time I saw it. The more times I watch it, the more I get it. (I guess)

The rundown:

I avoid DC Comics stuff. With the exception of the Christopher Nolan Batman movies and the TV show Flash, all of it sucks, especially anything dealing with Superman.

All of the Iron Man movies are good. The first is the best of them, Sam Rockwell saved the 2nd movie, and the fight scenes with all the suits in the 3rd was entertaining.

All of the Thor movies are good. The first was unexpectedly good, the second is quite decent. Loki makes a great villain.

The first Captain America movie was weak. I still don't like it. The 2nd Captain America was almost as good as the first Iron Man movie, which is impressive.

Guardians of the Galaxy was good. The Avengers was great beyond expectations.

The Fantastic Four movies should be avoided at all costs. Terrible. And they are now rebooting it. Why? Just dreck.

The first two Spiderman movies with Tobey McGuire were decent. I liked Willem Defoe and Alfred Molina. The 3rd one sucked. The two movies with Andrew Garfield were worse than sh!t.

The Ang Lee Hulk movie was terrible. The Ed Norton Hulk movie was barely watchable.

The Daredevil movie was cartoonish and cornball but I'll rewatch it. I wanted to like Elektra and Jennifer Garner, but not good.

The first two X-Men movies were decent. The third one sucked bad. The 2 reboots that came after have been OK.

Agents of Shield sucked the first half of season one, but is a pretty good TV show now, especially when they do tie-ins with the movies and have guest characters from the movies pop in. Agent Carter had two strong characters in Peggy Carter and Jarvis but the rest of the show around them was weak.

I like the Punisher movie with Thomas Jane. Haven't seen the reboot movie that followed.

I'm halfway through the Daredevil television show. It's starts a bit slow, but really locks you in by around episode 3.

Looking forward to Avengers 2, Ant-Man, and the 3 upcoming new Marvel Netflix shows.

Personally I haven't found a marvel or DC film I haven't liked. Mainly because I do have a fondness for super heroes. Still, I wish they wouldn't have discontinued the Spider-Man movies in the middle like that.

On another note, the Russian in The Punisher is freakin huge. Great movie

No . Just violence and some language.

Superhero shows / movies are for teenagers.

This line of thinking as as outdated as they come. Majority of fans are well into aduthood. Remember some of these characters are from the 40s-60s. Old farts grew up with them, they are just now getting the movies and shows they deserve. Superheroes were for teenagers when you were a teenager.

I generally agree but DD does seem to be an exception...to me anyways.

I mentioned this show in the Netflix thread as well

Just finished the final episode. I think I need to process everything about this series before attempting any type of extensive commentary. It's safe to say it was intense, extremely enjoyable, and I have rarely seen such good television. They easily could have cut up this series into 3 movies which would have grown in gross with every edition due to word of mouth of how good the story was.

Watched episode one tonight. Wife and I both thought it was dumb :(

I've been noticing a trend of this with the Netflix type stuff too. Unbeatable Kimmy Schmidt was supposed to be awesome and it stunk. Then you had that Transparent show on Amazon prime that was supposed to be super great--didn't like that one either.

I'm turning in to posty

Started it Friday night at my sons recommendation. Wife said she would watch even though she had no idea what is was about.

After it was over she was like "more please"

We finished episode 11 last night. 2 more to go.

PSA new season starts streaming 3/18/16

To all except worms who thought it was dumb. Go suck your wife's c0ck.

Tough call really. Probably DD since its original and you can just go get frozen dessert treats elsewhere. But I reccomend making yonanas while watching DD.

Rare to see a straight man who things gritty, dark, violent shows about beating up people are dumb. You think bruce lee, van damme and arnold movies are dumb too? Just curious. Or are you out of touch and think that every superhero movie/show is like the campy superman show from the 50s like "Here I come to save the day! Up up and away! its a bird, its a plane! its superman!"?

Oh I'm way stoked for S2. I even heard it may be better than S1 from early reviews. Must be timezone locked, it's 10pm here and not available. Will dive in tomorrow.
