BunnysBastatrds 2,446 Posted October 26, 2015 I'm on my phone so I'm not sure how to use it so I just won't post it. But yea can't believe they decided to do that. I have the two books with all the comics but I haven't read them yet. Did you watch The Talking Dead after?

OldMaid 2,130 Posted October 26, 2015 Glen is not dead! The wording they kept using on Talking Dead, and the the fact that Steven Yeun wasn't on the couch are HUGE RED FLAGS. Every time they've killed off a major character, they've been a guest that night on the show. That, and that message from Gimple pretty much cements it. When Nicolas took Glen with him and they fell off the dumpster, he fell on top of him. Those were his (Nicolas) guts we saw being ripped out. Now Glen will be covered in body parts and allow him to espcape. And let's not forget he still has those flares, or whatever those were that they planned to use to burn the feed store down. That's my take on it at least...

I won't say that this is what happened, but I was thinking similarly and this is the only thing I could come up with. 2 great episodes in a row and there will certainly be a 3rd. frank 2,307 Posted October 26, 2015 What is in the spoiler is what I was thinking. If true, that is super lame. They could have just not written that whole situation. Once it happens, it's weak to weasel out of it like that. Another reason I think the spoiler might be true is that there is no way for the others to ever know what happened. The show has been shown. We can't talk about it to protect those who might want to see it a month from now?

Magnificent Bastard 191 Posted October 26, 2015 Yes you are right At first I thought OM was on to something, but then this guy agreed with her. Now I'm not so sure. If Glen is covered in body parts, the blood is fresh. I thought to be camaflodged it had to be zombie blood/body parts?

Yeah, it's not like it's going to be a dream sequence. They wrote the out before the in.....if the out exists.
Djgb13 2,339 Posted October 26, 2015 In the comics I read he still gets killed. But it's later on by a guy called Negan. They are introducing him in the show at the end of the season. So if he made it out he will still get killed by Negan. Plus in the comics Ricks hand got chopped off by the governor yet he still has his hand. I'm wondering somehow that cut that Rick got on his hand that got zombie blood in it will get infected and he has to cut it off (although scientifically that makes no sense but this is tv)

Kinda paying homage to the comics, but yet still doing their own thing.
OldMaid 2,130 Posted October 26, 2015 Yeah, that is a good point. How the hell do you use the spoiler thing by the way? I can't figure out how to do it. I just type it out. Put spoiler in brackets. Like this And then type what you want hidden followed by It's the same as you would use quote, or bold or any of the other functions. edit: That didn't really help. Let me try that again. type what you want hidden followed by [/sp0iler] Obviously use an o instead of 0 in the end one, but of I typed it out again it would just hide it again. Does that help? I thought to be camaflodged it had to be zombie blood/body parts? That's my only problem with it as well. Interestingly enough... the very first episode we're introduced to Glen is named Guts and it was that episode where we are first introduced to that trick. Could be another sign. Of course, there is always the possibility that they're trying to change things up, and play with our heads. We've become accustomed to how they treat major character deaths on Talking Dead, so this would provide some controversy. But it just doesn't feel right to me. Either way... I can see this dragging out til the end of this season. Kinda like the whole Beth thing. Next week looks like they're going to focus on some backstory for Morgan. What happened after he went crazy, and how he got to the Zen place he is now. It could be some time before we get a resolution. Either way... the last two episodes have been tremendously good. It's been awhile since they've had us on the edge of our seats and squirming... and I like it.

Eugene and Nicholas were at the top of my kill list. At least one of them is gone. If Glenn truly is gone it wouldn't really crush me either. He's my least favorite of the ones that are left from season 1.
tanatastic 2,062 Posted October 26, 2015 Great episode and season so far. Im a little miffed at the fakeout since theres no chance he would get out of that, there was too many walkers to wiggle free from at least 1 bite. The covered in blood excuse wont fly, the guy is not tainted yet.

Magnificent Bastard 191 Posted October 26, 2015 I think the show is a commentary on not letting one guy, Rick, who represents the military, make all the decisions. While capable and well intentioned, that doesn't mean he's always right. Blindly following him at every step because of prior success is not a good idea. Kind of like letting our Miltary Industrial complex guide our foreign policy based on the victory in WW2. Yes, they got that one right, but they have led us in to disasters since then. Rick went a bridge too far this time. Just like a Roman General couldn't bring his army in to Rome without permission, Rick should have slowed down and listened to other ideas. But he only sees the fight.

I guess we'll see, but either way I'm fine with. He's a good character and all, but I think shows have to get rid of main characters in order to maintain the series. Usually I don't like when they faux-kill a character i.e True Detective, but this I wouldn't have a problem with. Yes, really, really good start to the season. The series has been a bit hit and miss, but it is probably the best show on TV currently sans GOT.

parrot 789 Posted October 26, 2015 Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but it's a fun show that my whole family watches. One of the best on TV. Everyone is entitled to their opinion as far as enjoying it or not, but from any kind of objective viewpoint it's not one of the best things on TV. It's certainly nowhere near #2. Show like Fargo and The Americans are better, MUCH better, and that's not opinion, that's just a fact. The Walking Dead's writing is lazy, the acting sucks, the characters do incomprehensible things all the time, and it has no internal consistency. The most amazing thing the show has done is to get people to keep watching it no matter how thoroughly they insult our intelligence (see the white van that fell off the bridge for a point of reference). And most likely they are going to do it again next week when Glenn turns up alive because he had a spattering of blood on him. But I'll be watching.

Honestly, outside of sports, I don't watch much TV and certainly do not have any regular shows, except for WD, which I watch with the family. It gives me exactly what I want from it. We also watch Modern Family, and I am semi-ashamed to admit it.
