Trump probably hasn't paid income taxes in 20 years

Recommended Posts

OK, so you were comparing apples and oranges in a desperate attempt to deflect. That's much better

Deflect from what? Hillary asked what kind of business man loses a billion dollars in one year. I brought up a guy who lost two. Pretty straightforward.

This is where he focks up again. He recently defended himself (in the last 24 hours) saying:

"I brilliantly used the tax l"aws to benefit my investors..."

Again, he generated a NEGATIVE 99.5% return for his investors.

I honest go God don't GET why THAT is not the story when he has made the very basis of his campaign upon his brilliant business acumen.

Now that he brought up the investors, especially now, HRC's team should sink their teeth into that juicy bone. He couldn't have Teed it up any better for them.

it could be shorter, but I would rather not rush it back. My work has a very low tolerance for things like if I go back for work, and then after 5 hrs can't handle it

Guy is the Jamal Charles of blackjack dealers... In the grand scheme of things he's not doing anything that bad...

I enjoy him talking about how he has a "fiduciary duty" when it comes to his personal tax liabilities, but the term never crosses his lips when discussing the one company he took public then promptly used as his personal bank account/dumping ground til it went t!ts up. I don't know if he doesn't know what the term actually means or he doesn't care. Just another case of "Stupid or Liar?" I guess.

Definitely. ..he used a loss to benefit himself. Everything he does is to benefit himself.

Who knows? Of course we wouldn't have to speculate if he would release his tax returns, but for some reason, he won't. It's funny, he claims you don't learn much from tax returns, but has threatened legal action over the publishing of these few pages. It's almost like he's full of sh!t or something. :dunno:

Let me ask a question.

Can you name 5 people who chose to pay more in Federal income tax than they owe.

Is it bad if a guy on unemployment can get a job, but decides he wants to collect unemployment for as long as he's allowed? Is it wrong that a man on welfare is healthy and smart enough to get a job, but he'd rather just stay on welfare?

Donald Trump takes advantage of every loophole in the tax laws so that he can avoid contributing to the well being of the country. Taxes are what fund the military. And social security.medicaid. And helps pay off the national debt. Is this country really going to be able to handle all of that off the backs of hard working people making $100k/year? While a guy like Trump makes 692 million and doesn't pay a penny?

If your question is whether or not Trump is breaking any laws, the answer is no. But if your question whether or not he's a greedy ass hole who is a MAJOR contributor to the economic problems in this country, then it's a resounding yes. And if he's elected, you know damn well he's doing everything he can to make sure he and his billionaire buddies continue to have loopholes which prevent them from contributing.

it makes for an interesting comparison:

One guy is a dirtbag for legally beating the welfare system.

One guy is a genius for legally beating the tax system.

Individually, which one do you think hurts the public funds more?

Not necessarily, does make you a bit of a dooshbag if you've busted on others for not paying taxes though. But none of this was my point; if Trump would release his returns - as has been SOP for every major national nominee for the last 30 years anyway - we wouldn't have to guess whether he has paid taxes or not. He also busted on Romney for not releasing his returns.

I'm far more curious how that $900M NOL came about than how he has made use of it since.

I can't stand a welfare system that allows people who can work, but are to lazy, to collect Welfare.

I can't stand a tax code that allows loopholes that mostly wealthy take advantage of.

Your vote is hinged on his $900 million loss?

there is no such thing as a "loophole" I am so tired of hearing that. A loophole is something to circumnavigate the laws in place. Following the tax code for your advantage is not taking advantage of loopholes.

also him not paying taxes and now the whole oh he doesn't fund the military garbage, he has thousands of employees who are paying taxes, he pays payroll tax, business tax, property tax, all kinds of taxes

Not even close. He's a sh!tbag and I wouldn't vote for him on a bet. But I am curious, was this "operating loss" in anyway a real financial loss related to ops, or is it just a paper loss that he manufactured somehow, maybe by taking all the depreciation on his casinos before dumping them into his public C-corp he was busy running into the ground with no regard for his investors. Everyone has been preaching this refrain that it's "all legal" but how that loss came about has never been established as legal. I would think it probably is legal being that large but I think it's likely there might be some pretty big ethical questions involved.

because you can't not pay those, there is no going around those things, they are then used in turn as write offs for business profits, its just like sales tax

you don't pay property taxes they auction your property

Does this mean he's one of the 47% Mitt was talking about?

Not sure if serious but no those are the people who don't make enough to pay taxes. Which annually is about 50% of the people

I wasn't being serious at all, just was enjoying the unintended irony of the (admittedly different) situations.

As a blackjack dealer, you must understand the concept of gaming the system? Or can behavior not be worthy of contempt unless it is explicitly illegal?

Everyone should maximize actions which benefit their personal bottom line, without regard to the bigger picture. Just don't break the law, as it is the sole arbiter of right and wrong.

I don't see it as gaming the system if it's within the laws honestly. I don't fee that rich people are obligated to take care of poor people. I also am a small business owner too so that is bearing on my thoughts as well. I make sure to write of every single thing I can. If they didn't want us to use those benefits then why have them

Trump surely uses every trick in the book to minimize his taxes down to zero or as near to it as possible. That in itself isn't so upsetting as that's what most everybody does. What's upsetting is that the system is so rigged in favor of the rich donor class such that guys like Trump are able to do that. Then the next question becomes is Trump willing to close the loopholes that he is clearly willing to exploit that allow for guys like him to avoid paying taxes. And although I do believe he knows how to exploit the system to avoid taxes, I don't know that he is willing to change it such that guys like him should. I doubt he is.

If he took an approach with this along the lines of : I don't pay taxes because I use every loophole I can to avoid them. Those loopholes exist because guys like me buy politicials like Crooked Hillary to keep those loopholes in place. But I know where the loopholes are because I jump through each one and am going to shut them.... that's how you take lemons and making lemonade out if it.
