I've written about this previously. Let me dumb it down for the people just joining the conversation. If we wrote a law that's said that people from Predominantly Dark skinned / colored countries Couldn't come into the u.s., But we wrote in an exception That if you were a white person coming from one of those dark skin countries, you weren't included in the ban. Would that or would that not be a Defacto Ban on black people from those countries?

Now, replace black people with Muslim And An exception For all religions that aren't Muslim. How is that not a de facto ban On exclusively Muslims from those countries?

I think where we are talking past each other Is Technically You are right in saying it is not a ban on all Muslims. It is a ban on all Muslims from those seven countries.

For me, I don't give a Shiite, But personally, I would prefer To increase the list of countries to include those countries that you know actually provided terrorist While at the same time Limiting it to a certain Target demographic group Like males between 18 + 45.

The reason for most of the above was just the retarded way it was implemented. No consultations with Boots on the ground and state department and various other agencies. And, the green card Holders have no reason To be jailed which is effectively what they were.

And strategically, If Americans Can't agree whether this is a Muslim ban or not, I think it's safe to say that this Will resound as exactly a war against Muslims By Isis and Al Qaeda in their recruiting efforts.

Which is why I would go for a targeted demographic. When stories and pictures of a 68 year old wheelchair-bound Grandmother Muslim getting Detained at the airport start circulating, It's hard not to disprove the whole war on Muslims thing.

Ya know, sitting back and taking 'the long view';

 

It's true that this is (allegedly) just a temporary thing while they figure out what improvements to make to the process.

I'm not really sure how they'll do that without including, ya know, the people who actually DO this stuff (state, justice, Congress, TSA, ICE, CIA, etc...), but whatever.

 

But, like I posted a the other day, I'm really interested to see what specific changes TrumpCo intends to implement to the process. I mean, we did a bipartisan review and revamp after 9/11. Then, we did it again after the Kentucky Brothers case.

 

I'm really curious what Trumpco thinks needs to be done that isn't being done right now. What agencies - on top of half-dozen involved already need to be involved.

 

At the end of the day, that's REALLY going to be the proof in the pudding. And, given the Trump apparently (based upon his Twitter justification this morning) doesn't understand the EXISTING vetting process, I don't know how he'll know what to change going forward - what gaps exist - and, if he's shutting out all the relevant players - who'll advise him accordingly.

 

It will be interesting to see what happens by say, April Fool's Day.
