In my point...is that there were fights and other violence including a death...that were not in that park. That were not in the "permitted" area.

If the city would've done a better job at allowing the legal protest to have a peaceful assembly/protest, keeping the groups apart, etc. Maybe it wouldn't have spilled out into the streets. Probably not likely, but we'll never know. If people would allow legal protests/marches, allowed by the constitution (even if we disagree with the message) to happen, maybe we'd see less violence.

 

 

I guess a few weeks before this protest, Charlottesville had the kkk march. About 40 kkk people marched. The city had over 1000 counter protesters show up. That should've been a good indicator of what was coming. Just triple/quadruple the numbers and plan accordingly.

I think they were definitely overwhelmed by the numbers...as well as people showing up armed the way they were and with shields and helmets and almost like body armor for some.
