5-Points 2,729 Posted March 20, 2018 And he did. Doesn't count. The guy was a security guard and probably a former Boy Scout or Hall Monitor. He's obviously had super duper bad ass firearms training that totally prepared him for just such an event.

The shooter exchanged fire with a school resource officer, a trained, armed deputy sheriff, Cameron said. The shooter was wounded; the officer was not. https://www.nbcwashington.com/news/local/Shooting-Investigation-Underway-at-St-Marys-Co-High-School-477374093.html

tanatastic 2,061 Posted March 20, 2018 Situation was deescalated by an SRO, school resource officer with a gun who had a firefight with the shooter. This is a win for the pro gun side. There may just be some merit to having an officer like this around.

cyclone24 1,814 Posted March 20, 2018 Yep a highly trained officer showed up. Surprise surprise. Man I thought Joe Blow with his concealed carry was going to do it. Once again nope. Not scared of guns I just don't need one. I can't fathom the level of paranoia some of you must have that you can't even go outside of your house without going strapped. Ironic that you call me the one scared though.
MDC 5,892 Posted March 20, 2018 Shooter was a student yes. Not a random maniac who saw the gun free zone sign and decided this would be a safe place to go on a rampage?

Anytime that our ridiculous gun culture is combated by more guns they somehow view that is a win. They are not truly happy unless we are all wearing sidearms like the wild west or every public place we go is like airport security.

Have always advocated those types to be armed to the teeth. I want guns taken away from Johnny Dipstick and Larry Jabroni, civilians who think they are Dirty Harry.
