Hardcore troubadour 12,657 Posted April 24, 2018 Read the book. Top five I've ever read. Yes. I also read The Godfather Returns. It's not by Puzzo, but he gave permission for it to be written by the Author upon Puzzos death. It covers the charachters from 1955-1962. Lots of backstory. Good read. wiffleball 4,645 Posted April 24, 2018 We take it for granted now, but you know those Humane Society disclaimers on literally every movie? They come from The Godfather. Â You have to understand that they didn't have nearly the sophistication back in the day. So when it came time to shoot the infamous horse head scene, they simply went out to a local Ranch outside of Lodi and made a deal with the Rancher for a horse that was never going to flourish. Â Ain't much market for a sickly horse. So the Rancher was glad that they would haul him off for free. Â Like I said man, different time back then.

Patriotsfatboy1 1,432 Posted April 24, 2018 Debunked. Dog food plants don't bring live horses.Well, tell that to Francis Ford Coppola: (from IMDB)Â Animal rights activists protested the horse's head scene. Francis Ford Coppola told Variety, "There were many people killed in that movie, but everyone worries about the horse. It was the same on the set. When the head arrived, it upset many crew members who are animal lovers, who like little doggies. What they don't know is that we got the head from a pet food manufacturer who slaughters two hundred horses a day just to feed those little doggies."
Patriotsfatboy1 1,432 Posted April 24, 2018 From Time Magazine, when asked if the head was real: Â Yes, it was. The studio had encouraged Francis Ford Coppola to use a fake horse head, but he didnt like the mock-up. His scouts found a horse ready for slaughter at a dog-food plant in New Jersey. The art director picked one that looked like the horse in the film and said, When that one is slaughtered, send us the head. Coppola later remembered, One day, a crate with dry ice came with this horses head in it.

wiffleball 4,645 Posted April 24, 2018 Scarface will always be my favorite Pacino movie. Â I watched it yet again on IFC last Saturday night. Â Tony Montana is the most entertaining character in film history. A lot of people don't realize that Al Pacino, a notoriously disciplined method actor, insisted on snorting actual cocaine throughout the filming of that movie. In fact to shoot the ending, they had to have paramedics on standby to keep his heart rate at a point where he did not become tachycardic.
